We visited Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba on a weekday for dinner, and we had an absolutely delightful experience. Located on Sarjapur Road in Bangalore, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in terms of concept, service, and food options.
First and foremost, the concept of Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba is charming and unique. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly recreated the rustic atmosphere of a traditional dhaba. The decor, with its wooden furniture and traditional artifacts, added to the authenticity of the place.
The service at Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They promptly attended to our needs and ensured that we had a comfortable dining experience throughout the evening.
Speaking of the menu, we were spoilt for choice with the wide range of delectable options available. To start our meal, we ordered masala papad, which was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The malai paneer tikka was a true standout – the paneer was incredibly soft and succulent, and the marinade was rich and flavorful.
To quench our thirst, we tried their refreshing buttermilk and jaljeera. The buttermilk was thick, creamy, and had just the right amount of tanginess. The jaljeera was a perfect combination of spices and herbs, leaving us feeling refreshed.
For the main course, we couldn't resist ordering the Gobi paratha, aloo paratha, and veg dry. The parathas were freshly made and had a wonderful flaky texture. The stuffing inside was generous and bursting with flavors. The veg dry, a medley of seasonal vegetables, was cooked to perfection and seasoned with aromatic spices.
To conclude our meal, we indulged in the khullad lassi, which was rich, creamy, and simply divine. It was the perfect sweet ending to our delightful culinary journey at Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with our experience at Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba. The concept, service, and food options were all top-notch, and we can't wait to visit again. If you're in Bangalore and looking for an authentic dhaba experience with mouthwatering dishes, this is the...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews unless the experience is exceptionally good or shockingly bad. Unfortunately, in the case of Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba, it was the latter – and by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Pathetic Service:
From the moment we entered, the staff seemed completely uninterested in attending us. No proper greeting, no assistance with seating, and an overall careless attitude. We had to wait for more than 30 minutes just to get someone’s attention to take the order – and even that was after multiple reminders. The waiters were sluggish, rude, and gave the impression that they were doing us a favor by serving us.
Substandard Food Quality:
The food – which we waited almost an hour for – was simply terrible. The lassi was not good, mushroom pepper dry was stale and had too much pepper. In Paneer Mushroom masala the mushroom was uncooked. Only the Ghee Roti was edible. Even the manager was agreeing that the food was not cooked properly but still was asking us to pay for it.
Misbehaving and Unprofessional Staff:
Perhaps the most shocking part of the visit was the way the staff responded to genuine complaints. When we politely mentioned that the food was cold and not edible, the waiter responded with visible irritation and said, "Yeh hi milta hai, lena hai toh lo, warna chhod do." No apology, no willingness to fix the issue – just plain arrogance. When we asked to speak to the manager, he said, we will give you a replacement of the sabzi but you have to pay for both. It was utterly surprising for me and my group, that a manager of restaurant was talking in unprofessional and impolite manner.
Overall Verdict:
If you value your time, money, and basic respect as a customer – please stay far away from Chulha Chuaki Da Dhaba. There are plenty of other places that serve better food, maintain hygiene, and at least know how to treat customers. This was not just a bad meal, it was a completely unpleasant experience from start to...
