UPDATE November 2024: Reducing the rating to 1 star from the original 5 star. Management and chefs seem to have changed. Ordered the same food as in the photos here. Was completely let down. The watermelon feta salad was just chunks of watermelon with just a little stale feta cheese. We ordered for a veg platter. Except for the mushroom chilli everything on that platter was cold to the touch. Unfortunately we were very hungry and didn't take photos.
I will definitely not be going here again.
ORIGINAL Review 2022: We went to the mall with our 3 year old toddler and decided to go for lunch. There used to be a Bar Bar pub which is now taken over by PVR . There are 4 restaurants, Cafe Allore , Cha Cha Cha , Ishaara and Dobaara .
We were deciding where to go when Mr Rahul informed us that we could sit any where among the 4 and order from any of the restaurants since they were all under same management . We got seated at Dobaara and checked out the menus for all the restaurants . Cafe Allore was Italian / Continental , Cha Cha Cha was all Pan Asian , Ishaara was Indian and Dobaara was more Tex/Mex bar style with finger food and beers .
We ordered Ras malai Tres leches and Watermelon and Feta salad from Dobaara , Tandoori Brocolli and Palak Cheese Tikki from Ishaara , Som Tam from Cha Cha Cha.
We ordered a Lychee Drago and Watermelon Twister mocktails as well.
Each and every item was either fresh or hot . The tandoori Brocolli was perfectly cooked and tender . The malai sauce that was generously served was perfectly seasoned .
The palak cheese tikki was served on a bed of a papdi and was perfectly soft and melted in your mouth .
The som Tam was the best I have had in Bengaluru in a long time . Perfectly seasoned , the right amount of chilli and tamarind sauce .
I am always skeptical when restaurants put regular Indian sweets like Ras Malai on the menu . Usually they just bring it from some store and serve it up . But the Ras Malai Tres leches was a pleasant surprise. Our son enjoyed it and kept asking for more.
I would like to point out the staff here . All the servers were extremely courteous and always ready to help . Special mention to our server Methil.
All in all an excellent...
Read moreI visited this on Sunday and there was a decent crowd in the bar. Located in Phoenix Mall's 2nd floor, this place offers both indoor and outdoor seating. They've their own DJ who played decent music. It'll be good if you get one of the corner seats in outdoor seating area as it gives excellent view of the stage area where we can enjoy live performances during weekends (mostly). Pros: The outdoor view alongside the live DJ gave a very good vibe. I liked the thing that they had well trained differently abled staff who were super cooperative and had a very good understanding of things. I tried Fish Fingers with Fries, Cheesy potato wedges alongwith bucket of beer. Wedges and Fish were quite good and tasted well. In desert I went for Tiramisu(they have a different menu for desserts). It came with a nice presentation and decent taste. Apart from that they give options to convert multiple food items into Jain or Vegan type
Cons: But the potato fries🍟 were soaked in too much of oil and were not crispy as they should be. One of the staff in casuals was not at all cooperative. I'd recommend him to avoid public interaction as it could ruin the experience. Maybe he knows who I'm referring to. You're not allowed to smoke in the outdoor seating area. You'll need to go in a corner in that area itself. There's only a single washroom each for male and female. I could see queues getting formed with the passage of time.
Apart from it, this place is spacious with a good vibe and you can definitely...
Read moreVery very slow service. I was seated near the entry door seat and the waiters seemed least bothered in taking order. I found them doing all random stuff except taking interest in taking orders. They seemed short staffed . The restaurant didn't really look as packed as I would have expected on a Saturday afternoon but still this was the quality of the service. I had to wait additional 25 mins just to get my bill paid because even after I told one staff member to get the bill, she didn't and when I tried to get the attention of the other waiters, they were least interested in even looking at me. Overall, poor service.
Coming to other aspects, the restaurant is clean . But few things are confusing here. Is this restaurant Dobaara or Ishaara I am not sure, I think they operate as one. The menu of Dobaara was really confusing . I was left scratching my head looking at half the items that had no proper details as to what exactly it was.
Food was good atleast and quantity too was decent but as usual these are on the expensive side .
Overall, I didn't really have the best experience here . Food was the only saving grace. The restaurant just beside named Cafe Allora also had this kind of poor service . I think these two places need more staff members. I don't think I am coming back to this...
