I ended up for a meal and, here are the deets of my dinning experience:
Started with Makkai Badam Shorba - A warm comfort bowl of corn, almond and dash of spices, adding a subtle zest to the soup.
Wheat and Nut Salad - I have a childhood connect with boiled wheat and that's what sparked when I read this on the menu. I like how they added crunchiness to the salad with nuts, however, the salad lacked flavours in it, and they only add peanuts, would like to see a variety of nuts in this one.
Mushroom Pate Canapies were good.
Crispy Sabudana Nibbets - A crispy base of sabudana crisp topped wth betroot puree and babaganoush.
Bocconcini Stuffed Cheese Balls - Crunchy from the out and gooey from the insidewell accompanied by the roasted bell pepper dip.
Healthy Aloo Chaat - Like the touch of crispy palak leaf adding a nice crunch to the chat. However, it was low on the spice level to make it a complete chaat.
Paneer Paratha with Kofta Curry was good, served with a creamt kofta curry and pickle. It was good.
Zuchhini Zoodles - Zucchini noodles tossed in veggies and Indian spices
Averakai Gnocchi - The gnocchi was good and tossed in aveakai sauce, could taste the hint of Indian spices.
Nutritious Quessedilla - The quessadillas were filling served with pineapple salsa and hungcurd dip. The quessadilla was stuffed with cottage cheese and cilantro sauce flavoured with indian spices.
Tried Healthy Italian Pizza and Low Carb Round about Pizza - The first one was a Wheat based pizza and the later was a cauliflower based pizza. They make a red bell pepper based sauce which is nice, but I miss my favourite tomato pizza sauce.
The accompanying beverages Gulkand Thandai and Darjeeling Kombucha were...
Read moreGo Native is the place which has the concept of sustainable food!! All the vegetables are fresh and from a nearby farm owned by them. One place which is truly amazing with seasonal menus and different dishes in every outlet. They also have handicrafts which are for sale and the place is very well decorated. This is the place where Karnataka food is shown in a beautiful way with farm to table concept.
Go Native has newly launched their summer menu and Kombucha is in the menu, well they have perfected even that. Ice apple and cashew shake is a bit filling, but this is rich. A bit of Ice Apple hints and the cashew remains at the after taste.
We all know Panner tikki, but here they have used Lotus stem and Panner to make a tikki. Panner is marinated and mildly spiced, cooked on a tandoor and it's perfect. Aloo Patha chat was not my plate of chat, but it's a trending dish here.
For salad, we had the Snow peas, bocconcini and walnut salad. The dressing is citrusy and how it has to be. Bocconcini cheese made a perfect blend with snow peas and the walnuts gave us a good crunch. Focaccia bread is trending again and this time Go Native has made a tomato and cheese stuffed focaccia.
Pizza has taken a huge transformation here. Missi Roti is the base, Panner lababdar is the topic, what say. The North Karnataka delicacy, Jolada Rotti is the base and the traditional Ennegayi is the topping. One would definitely fall in love with this. You have vegan options, ragi base and a wheat base to the pizza. Well, I can say healthy pizza.
For main course, we had the Kathal Biryani. Biryani and me are inseparable though. Jackfruit in a Biryani, a beautiful concept perfectly executed with the right flavours and mildly spiced.
The most interesting part for many people, desserts! Rasgullas are made with jaggery and very sweet. Mango Phirni, a rice kheer infused with mango, with minimal sweetness...
Read moreI had made a reservation for 12 people for 31st Oct. This was done more than a month ago and I had clearly mentioned to the manager Mr. Aalex that most of the folks that would be dining were senior citizens and would not be able to wait long for their food as they could not delay their medication. This was a special occassion as it was my mum's 75th birthday and my uncles, aunts and cousins had all travelled from Mumbai and USA to celebrate the special occassion. I was assured that at 12-noon/12.30 pm there would be very less crowd and we would be promptly served. However, it was exactly the opposite. It took more than an hour and a half for even our mocktails and starters to arrive. We were seated at 12.30 pm, starters arrived not earlier than 2:00 pm and main course took another 45 mins (2:45 pm) to arrive.
All of us were hungry and the long wait destroyed our appetites. The food was cold and average in terms of taste. The only things that were good was the veg pizza and the mocktails. Everything else was a huge disappointment. The thali's were a joke and should have been best avoided.
Only after we made our disappoitment known did Aalex inform that they were short staffed. I had called him 30 mins prior to arriving at the restaurant to confirm about parking space and he did not mention anything about staff shortage. He did not even bother informing that the service could be delayed, knowing very well that we had senior citizens in our company who were on medication and could not delay their meals (this was informed and confirmed multiple times by me to Aalex).
Taste - average Price - expensive and seriously not justified service - poor Ambience - good Parking - limited space in front of the establishment
NOT RECOMMENDED...!!! Will never...
