It was one of those days when itseemed as though Bengaluru was empty. There was literally no traffic and it just took me 20mins to reach hungry hippie, a distance of 8kms from my place. I had visited this restaurant on a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant is pretty hard to find since it's established on a constructing building on the fourth floor. 🍞🧀🍖🍗🥩🍔🍟🍕🥪🌯🥘🍚🥚🍧🍨🥧🍰🍹

🇦The ambience of the restaurant is lively with good music throughout. The restaurant is pretty bright as well. The graffiti of a modern Baba is one place where you can get your group pictures. The seatings are pretty good, they can easily accommodate over 50 people. I loved their portraits on the wall.

🇸 Service at the restaurant is good, the crew are agile and make sure the things are carried out well. On a whole they are courteous.

🇫🍽️ What j ate ??? 🍴Ferrero Roche shake ➡️ It was served in a nice plastic mug. A Ferrero Roche was placed in the top of a whipped cream. The shake tasted good. The chocolate shake had crumbs of Ferrero Roche in them and was pleasing.

🍴 Chocolate mousse ➡️ This was simple yet tasted good. Good amount of molten chocolate was stuffed in the glass with whipped cream on the top.

🍴Stuffed bread balti Chicken ➡️ A light fluffy bread filled with chicken and balti sauce. It was good.

🍴Croque Monsieur cheesy veg ➡️ The croque Monsieur looked like a heavy loaded lasnage with lots of cheese on the surface. The croque Monsieur tasted good. They were loaded with loads of parmesan cheese. They also had french fries in them.

🍴Peri peri Chicken skewers ➡️ The peri peri Chicken skewers were the best, they were very spicy and tasted good. The quantity too was pretty high.

🍴Seasame fried chicken ➡️ The quantity was more, the chicken chunks were cut in small pieces and coated well with Seasame on them. They were juicy and tender.

🍴Cheesy mushroom fries ➡️ It was loaded with loads of cheese along with the well cooked mushrooms. The French fries were golden brown and crispy.

🍴 Chicken schezwan pizza ➡️ It was a nice thin crust pizza. Full marks to the presentation. They were topped with a big Chicken chunks allover. The schezwan sauce made them spicy, they were loaded with loads of mozrella cheese.

🍴Masala fries pizza ➡️ This was my first time experience with French fries infused inside the pizza. The French fries were stuck generously on the surface of the pizza. The cheesy pizza went well with the fried french fries on them.

🍴Veg lasange ➡️ The veg lasange was too good. The sheets of cheese and the stuffings were good.

🍴Non veg lasange ➡️ I loved their non veg lasange, they are fully loaded with cheese. The minced meat in the lasange was amazing and it went well with cheese. The stuffings tasted good.

All in all hungry hippie is a nice lively restaurant with great hookah available. Usually the places which provide hookah have a mediocre food but in the case of hungry hippie had a good food as well. They have great food priced well. I loved their presentation of food, in most cases. The ambience too is very good.

I would like to start by mentioning the fact that, they advertise as hippies and travellers find shelter there, yes that might be true. But the fact they advertise it as a rooftop bar - restaurant and covering the entire roof so low that there's literally zero view of being on the roof of a building. The following are going to be the pros and cons of the place(purely what I experienced the day I went) : Pros: Very little delay in getting a seat( we were 3 guys) . Wait time was less that 10min. the servers/ waiters were really good, and they really suggested what to get and suggestions were on point. sheesha / hookah is on point, with the blend of flavour and plenty of refill within the time period(1hr)

Cons: Music / DJ : the DJ was absolute trash. If you guys are planning to have a good vibe and dance, it won't happen. The DJ will play some trash songs and when the mood is seeting he will scream through the microphone and change the track.

the place at the time basically played almost all Punjabi songs(I love Punjabi songs). But this one experience made me and my friends hate it, even the Punjabis present there pissed by the DJ.

quantity of food : the amount you pay and the quantity is not comparable.

availability of drinks : we wanted to order a pitcher, they said it's over. And only the pitcher of highest price is available. We ordered it. But after few minutes, I saw the pitcher we asked being delivered to another table. 🥴

and mainly the rain / mist / irrigation setup : Yes , ther are sprinklers or humidifiers or something similar on the roofing. Which will be activated when the DJ goes crazy on the tracks and spoils the entire mood. Key takes : don't find a seat under the irrigation system. Order food wisely. Don't go if you don't wanna spoil your love for music.

Hookah costs 800 for 1hour and afterwards you need to pay again. Suggestion for the restaurant team : please, find a good DJ. It's a request.

My personal scores : Quality : 3.5/5 Recommended: yes . ( Because of hookah, otherwise NO costs 800 for...

This time I'm so irritated by the place, that I am gonna give point wise review. Ambiance I went there on Saturday evening along with few friends with the hope of good ambiance, relax dining and particularly place to chat and catchup. The place looked fine, however, they had this live music thingie going on. One lady was singing some English songs which I couldn't even understand. Another lady was singing Hindi songs and attempting to connect with crowd. I'm not saying they are bad or they shouldn't do that... But, people also go to restaurants to chat. If the place is soo noisy, one cannot speak . I was literally shouting and yet my friends couldn't hear me. I couldn't enjoy the food because of it and literally couldn't wait to leave the place. I was thinking of having hookah, but, had no patience to stay any longer. Service The server staff was just walking around the place without knowing what they have to do. I also felt like, they are working in that constant noise, they must be having severe headaches to actually understand what customer is saying. At the time of placing order, he was just standing there looking at our face. We had to remind him that he should write down the order. He then went and got the notepad to write it. After first round, I wanted water. I had to repeat it to 3 different servers to finally recieve the water. I wonder, when and why the practice of keeping water on table was discontinued?? Payment problem. The internet and range was just fine at the entrance of building. Once we reached on 4th floor, the internet stopped working. I'm not saying I want to surf while having dinner, but, we definitely need internet at the time of manking payment. Felt like there was some kinda jammer installed.

Overall conclusion: the place may be fine on other days, but, going there on weekends must be reconsidered. If you like quiet places with soft music and relax ambiance this is not a...

Hungry Hippie was suggested to me by a friend so I went there for lunch. The place is huge and filled with smoke. It is a typical Hookah Lounge, everyone with hookah in their hands, smoke on their lips -- A HIPPIE place. Though it gets hot as the place has no centralised AC. If you are a hookah lover this place is for you. If you a food lover too this place is for you. This place gets crowded on weekends as this is located at the most popular street of Kormangala near JNC. I tried few drinks like Green Mango & mint cooler, Pan Cooler and Truffle Brownie shake. To be honest all 3 shakes stands out for me especially the former one. I loved the Green mango and mint cooler. As the noon was hot and this drink was very refreshing and it calmed me down after fighting with bangalore traffic and scorching sun. Coming to food, I had ordered Peri Peri Chicken Pizza, Mexican Fries, Desi Noodles, Citrus Salad, Cottage Cheese Steak with rice. To my surprise the food was really good because hookah lounges normally lack in food. But Hungry Hippie is a place to be if you want good hookah & sexy food. The pizza was really good, very cheesy (got few cheese pull clicks for my Inastgram), but the chicken chunks were small and less on pizza. For me Desi Noodles was the show stopper, this for all the desi Chinese lovers. And also the Cottage Cheese Steak with rice. Loved these both dishes. As many of us know, parking is a main concern in Kormangala, so be prepared to face if you are visiting on a 4 wheeler. Overall verdict: Food 4/5 Ambience 4/5 Service 4/5 Follow my journey on Zomato & Instagram @rk.snaps.
