Social, Indiranagar has opened its doors for the public with all safety measures in place and I went in to try their sumptuous grub along with the legendary LIITs. The ambiance is really lively and varies from a group seating area to the private lounges. I absolutely loved this arrangement and got myself seated in one of their private lounges which looked splendid. Its perfect for a romantic dinner or just a private gathering.
Now coming to the food and drinks, below is what I really digged into and what should be on your must have list.
Drinks : Social is famous for their Long Island Iced Teas and so it goes without saying that I went for them. They have an offer going on for IPL where they have curated 8 drinks based on the teams. I tried a few of them and my favourite was the Chennai based LIIT. Dont miss out on your favourites. Also the icing on top is the running offer where the first drink is on them. Can it get any better.
Food: Had a plethora of yummy dishes as mentioned below:
Prawn Ghee Roast : One of the best prawn ghee roasts . If you like prawns, this should be one of your dishes.
Chicken Pepper Fry : Absolutely finger licking delicious. Well coated with all the spices, this was a hoot.
Keema Pav : Another dish which demanded attention. The keema was really delectable and droolworthy. Must try.
Coconut Malai Tikka : Chicken tikka marinated with coconut cream and curry leaf. A pleasant dish for the folks who like it less spicy.
Seekh and Onion Tandoori Pizza : Thin crust pizza shaped like an inverted dome. It was pretty good.
Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza : Another mouthwatering pizza. Must have for the bacon fans.
Desserts :
PBJ and Bacon Amazeballs with Vanilla Ice cream: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches wrapped with bacon, deep fried and served with vanilla ice cream. I doubt you will find many places having a bacon based dessert. It was a unique one and really tasty.
Layer Cake : Layered chocolate sponge cake embedded with 3 types of mousse cakes. It was my favourite. Do try this out.
The Ramesh and Suresh : A take on the classic and very popular 5 star ad, this one had deep fried 5 star bars with hot chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream. A fantastic dessert.
Overall, I really enjoyed the evening. The ambiance, service , food and drinks are all tremendously good. Plan out your evening and...
Read moreSocial was truly a game-changer in the pubbing world in Bengaluru and before long has spread its tentacles across India, offering unique interiors, very inclusive spaces, and a fun fusion menu.
Visited the Indiranagar branch yesterday for the first time. Call it my aging combined with a bleaker outlook in life, but the things which felt fun and interesting now seem a tad pedestrian. I liked the multilevel interiors, my friend and me sat in those comfy leatherettes, but the table was so tiny that when the food and drinks came, we literally had to keep things down on the floor as there was no space.
While most restaurants have moved back to the regular physical menu, it's still the QR code online menu, which is fine, but the menu is rather large with their vast selection of eats and drinks. It got a little confusing to navigate and we ended up choosing things randomly. I aspect I liked was that you could pay the bill through the app and make it entirely paperless.
Of the drinks my Rose was good, but the Giest beers felt so lifeless? The food again (chicken makhani baos, the veg tandoori momos, mezze platter) was decent and perfect for sharing, but nothing remarkable. Infact, I found the bao a tad spicy.
The music by the DJ covered some decent progressive before he jumped into hip-hop and the lubricated crowd dived right in to bust some moves.
Service was good, infact the table next to us, got a little vocally agressive because of some drink mix up, but the server handled it professionally.
If you haven't been to social at all, then you sure must! It's a busy, buzzy and reasonably priced chain. It is esp. awesome if you go with a...
Read moreIt's a sports bar hangout place. They have multiple big screens on which they cast the latest sports or games which interests everyone. The first thing I noticed when I entered was that they were hosting Sri Lankan cuisines. But , we couldn't taste anything since none of the Sri Lankan menu options were available at that time. Food : all the non veg items were delicious. Specially prawns, we ordered ghee roast and one more option of prawns as starters. Both were fantastic. Chicken sizzler was mouthwatering, kebab platter was beautiful. We ordered majorly all chicken and fish items. And all were great. Biryani is a big no here please. Don't even try it. In veg, we had nachos, platter, hara bhara kebabs which also turned out to be good. For drinks we ordered beer which is not homegrown , you will get hoegenharden options available. I had a martini which has some chilli flavour to it. Trust me it's awesome.
Parking is available and valet option is there. Since you cannot Park on the main road.
Another interesting thing was that they have a special menu and food deal reserved for people who would work from their place the whole day. The charges are around 300/400 bucks with unlimited food options.
They have 2 different sitting arrangements. One is ac and indoor sitting with sofas and big cushioned chairs. Outside is more kinda benches but airy...
