I had heard about this restaurant a while back and I wanted to visit this for quite some time. I personally love pan asian food. So when we got a chance we decided to go to this restaurant for lunch.
We found the decor of the restaurant in interesting and themed as would be expected; the layout as well as artwork on the walls.
For the food we decided to start with a veg starter followed by their signature Ramen dishes, popularly referred to as volcano Ramen. We ended it with their interesting looking desert.
Their portions are very filling, especially the Raman. We were four adults and I must say it was bit of a struggle for us to finish the Raman though we had ordered only three of them. Thankfully the staff who was taking the order had stopped us from ordering the fourth Ramen 🙂.
The service was efficient and quick. The food was tasty with an interesting mechanism of how it gets all brought together at your table.
We didn't have to wait for a table since we had made reservations ahead. However, when we were there we could see a few people having to wait, probably walkins. So if you are planning to visit the restaurant especially on a weekend, I recommend that you make reservations ahead.
Having experienced Japanese restaurant culture personally while having worked in Tokyo for some time I could see aspects of it that they have tried to bring into this place. But I felt that some consistency was lacking. For example, how they greet their guests when they enter and when the depart. It could have been because of the high foot fall when we were there.
Anyone who is not familiar with Japanese cuisine can find the menu quite daunting to understand. My one recommendation to the service staff is to spend a bit more time with the guest to walk them through and explain some of the dishes that they would like to recommend. That I feel can take the experience to the next level. Having said this, I would recommend anyone whose wanting to get a quick snapshot of Japanese food and restaurant culture to certainly...
Read moreI visited this restaurant on a weekday, and honestly, I’m completely baffled by the rave reviews it's been getting. From the moment you walk in, they try to create an authentic experience with the typical Japanese diner-style chorus greeting and the dramatic drum bang — a fun touch, I’ll admit. It definitely sets the mood and raises your expectations. But unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ends.
As a huge ramen enthusiast who’s enjoyed it in several places outside of India, I was excited to try what they had to offer. However, the ramen was a massive letdown. The overall dish was far from what I expected. Honestly, I don’t understand how anyone could leave such glowing reviews because, for me, it was borderline inedible.
To make things worse, I also ordered the fried rice with prawn, which turned out to be completely tasteless. It lacked any depth or flavor, and I could barely force myself to finish it. It was disappointing, to say the least. We also gave the hot and spicy chicken wings a shot, and yet again, they missed the mark. The wings were odd, I couldn’t really point what was off. we ended up leaving half of them on the plate.
The entire meal was nothing short of disastrous. I felt like I wasted my money on food that wasn’t even remotely enjoyable. I’m just grateful I ordered the smaller portion of ramen because there was no way I could’ve eaten any more of it. Half of our order ended up uneaten, and that pretty much sums up the night.
I can confidently say I will never be returning to this place. The food was inedible, and the whole experience felt like a waste of time and money. If you’re considering going here based on the hype, I’d advise you to...
