Embarking upon a gastronomic adventure through the "Quiche & Kettle" menu, one is greeted with a rich tapestry of culinary offerings that seamlessly weave classic English breakfast items with a smattering of other international and local delicacies, ensuring a broad appeal to a diverse clientele.
The English breakfast section is a hearty nod to classic British morning fare, with offerings like eggs in various avatars - scrambled, poached, and in omelettes, accompanied by butter toast and filter coffee. The inclusion of cookies with breakfast, while unconventional for the Indian palate, could be a sweet surprise or a miss, depending on personal preferences. The vegetarian breakfast, featuring baked or sautéed king beans and paneer butter toast, is a thoughtful inclusion, ensuring vegetarian patrons have ample choice.
The menu also tantalizes with a variety of appetizers, from the simplicity of Garlic Bread and Fries to the moreish allure of Chicken Crostini and Meat Crostini. The Croissant with spicy Italian sausages and the various iterations of Quiche, such as the Mushroom & Bellpepper Quiche and Creamy Chicken Quiche, promise a delightful start to any meal, potentially pairing well with the various coffee options available.
Pasta and steak sections beckon with a promise of hearty, robust flavors. The Mushroom & Bell Pepper Pasta and Creamy Chicken Pasta suggest a comforting, creamy indulgence, while the Chicken classic steak and Special meat steak with red wine sauce hint at a more luxurious, bold dining experience.
The burger, pizza, and lasagna offerings seem to cater to the universal love for fast food, with the King Size Burger Meat and various lasagna options like Chicken, Lamb, and Meat providing a hearty, filling option for diners. The pizza options, while limited in the provided text, suggest a leaning towards classic, beloved toppings.
The kettle section is particularly intriguing, with its blend of classic and local flavors. The Masala tea could potentially be a hit among Indian patrons, providing that beloved, spicy kick that is often sought after. The Mojito and Beyond Water cocktails suggest a willingness to cater to those seeking a refreshing, cool beverage, while the Cold Coffee and Lemon/Peach Ice Tea offer a classic respite from potential spice.
The dessert section is not to be overlooked, with offerings like Banana walnut cake and Carrot cake providing a sweet ending to what promises to be a rich, varied dining experience. The Cheese cake and Tres Laches hint at a more international dessert experience, potentially providing a sweet, creamy conclusion to a meal.
In essence, "Quiche & Kettle" presents a menu that is a melange of flavors, textures, and culinary traditions, ensuring that it has something to offer to every palate, from the conventional to the adventurous. However, the true testament of its appeal to Indian foodies would lie in the execution of these dishes, the balance of flavors, and the quality of ingredients used, ensuring that each dish is not only a nod to its culinary roots but also a palatable experience for the...
Read moreHad a lovely lunch with a friend here today. Ambience was quite nice, it's a small cozy cafe with limited seating but gives out a sweet homely feeling.
We shared the meat lasagna and creamy chicken pasta with one another and it served as an appetizer for us, however it would be plentiful for one.
Meat lasagna was delicious with it's layers of pasta, meat and cheese which were all balanced well together Creamy chicken pasta was good with the chicken pieces having a distinct spice taste to it rather than most other generic pastas that would have the plain chicken
However my personal favourite was the meat burger which completely made my day. It is in my opinion what a real burger would taste like, not a chicken sandwich like a kfc zinger or a McChicken but an actual patty. The sauces complimented the meat even more, and if I'm not wrong the carmelized onions which were on it, was the perfect addition.
Unfortunately, I was unable to try out their desserts as I was already quite full! However from other reviews that I've read, they look and sound delightful too.
The hosts were also great to chat with while also respecting our privacy. They would check up on how we liked the dishes and were very sweet.
Overall, Quiche&Kettle did not disappoint me at all. For a cafe that I saw having multiple 5 star ratings on maps, I was sceptical whether it was genuine and decided to go on a whim on a Saturday afternoon but it has impressed me a ton and I will keep it on my go to lists of restuarants from now on! A genuine gem in a market where "cafes" are in every corner these days or commercialised beyond recognition. I definitely suggest everyone to come here once.
Directions - The google maps location is correct, however if you use ola or uber and directly type the name of the cafe, it might take you an extra half km away into ST Bed. The actual cafe is just a street off 80ft road (ie...
