Food and beverages are average, and not consistent in taste across their stores. Presentation can be better. Desserts and cakes look very unappetising. Lots of customer-unfriendly decisions by the management, and impractical ideas make this place a little uncomfortable for gourmets and coffee connoisseurs. The place is great for freeloaders who usurp spots, order one drink, open up their laptops and squeeze the Wi-Fi and the AC environs for all its worth, and hang around long hours, walking around like its their office space, disturbing other customers with their poor sense of proxemics, all the while talking inane drivel loudly, on their phones!
Service is average. The staff are very sweet folk, but they are not competent enough on the finer aspects of coffee appreciation.
Overall Customer Experience is okay, and the place is adversely affected by poor management decisions. I have given one star only because of the lost potential. Not because i am upset with them or anything. They have great locations, good interiors and an opportunity to make this a great coffee chain, but they're goofing up big time.
And i tried to call their Manager -- some Mr. Sunil Singh -- a couple of times, to give some FREE feedback about their store experience (as I am a Customer Experience Designer). He called me back to say that he was in a meeting, and that he'd call me the following day to meet me at the store and discuss my feedback, but like most Indian business managers, he did not bother to keep up his word.
Now, i'm responding to his response to my review, here below, as there is no REPLY option here. So, i am editing my review itself in response.
I don't buy that Almond Milk explanation. Let me explain.
For instance, at a STARBUCKS or any world-class coffee shop, if i order a cappuccino, Soy milk is offered as a FREE OPTION. The cost of the cappuccino remains the same whether i order it with the regular Dairy Milk or the Soy milk.
Now, i understand that Almond Milk and other milks are more expensive, and i'll grant you your claim that it costs your store ₹ 90/- to give me that small cup of Almond Milk (50% of which is just foam anyway). However, please understand, i am having the Almond Milk INSTEAD OF the Dairy Milk, not IN ADDITION TO the Dairy Milk.
So, at least have the decency to subtract the Dairy Milk charges when i ask for a coffee with Almond Milk. Fair ask?
Your store charges me for the FULL COFFEE WITH DAIRY MILK and then slaps on the charge for the Almond Milk over and top of that. How is this fair?
Now about your staff / service - NEVER evaluate or praise your staff to a customer by the number of Barista championships they've won. Customer Experience is not about their Resume / skills. It's about their practical efficacy ON THE FLOOR of the cafe on a day-to-day basis, interacting with and understanding REAL customers. It's not some isolated competition where other baristas just participate to demonstrate their 'foam art' skills and some random and unique coffee blends that have never been tried before, if you get my drift.
Staff are supposed to be friendly with customers, and understand the store culture, and their Menu inside out! By the way, one of your staff members was very rude to me. He's the new slightly balding and dark-complexioned guy, with a moustache, who currently stands at the counter. (I am not talking about Santosh. Santosh is AWESOME!). Make some enquiries, find the guy, and give him a little talk on Customer Service if you can. He has no clue how to talk to customers.
I have plenty of ideas on the ordering system, dispensing etc but i'll stop here.
Thank you for your response, it shows that you are at least a wee bit interested in CX (Customer Experience), and that you are taking my feedback in the...
Read moreIf you love coffee as much as coffee loves you, there cannot be a better place than Third Wave to show that love. Honestly, considering how much I swear by coffee, I'm ashamed of myself for not getting here earlier in life.
It's tucked away on the first floor of a building just off the main road in 4th block Koramangala, in between Barista and Nasi and Mee. You may have to look around a bit to find it, I had to, but once you do and you walk in, that smell of fresh coffee will slap you in the face and wake up(ever so politely, of course) every cell in your body.
I will not get into what coffee you should try, because everyone has different preferences for coffee, and much like The Force, the coffee chooses you, so I'll leave that upto you. But do ask about the different methods they use to make their coffees, they will answer all your questions and the lady there is very patient, friendly and helpful. I would recommend going out of your way and trying one of the coffees made with methods that you don't know about, (first page of the coffee menu which describes the estate it's from, method, etc.) because they let you watch how it's made and it's very cool to watch.
In terms of food though, definitely try the French Toast with seasonal fruits - it's divine. And also try the veg Panini because it's packed with flavour.
They also have a good space in terms of work - you can go in with your laptop or sketchbook or whatever, order a coffee, and do your thing. The place usually gets pretty packed, and for all the right reasons, but even if you have to wait, just wait because it's so worth it. You also have the option to buy one of the coffees, as beans or as powder, and they will grind it depending on what device you have for coffee at home.(I did that, yes)
In conclusion, it's a place perfect for anyone looking for a good workspace for a during the day, or just to sketch or write, or even just to have amazing coffee and conversation....

Overall Third Wave Coffee is one of the best place to sit back and enjoy the coffee. We shall fall in love with their industrial infrastructure and decor ambience. Good place for short meetings and work place. They have good number of outlets in the city. I wish management to maintain the same quality for further business years.
