Read moreFinally visited this Raja Gobi shop after hearing too much hype from everyone. Its very tiny shop located in the corner. Its hard to believe that this tiny shop has created so much hype when we see it first time.
Shop will be open from 4pm till 8pm. Within that time only you have to visit.
What's good?
The taste of the Gobi Manchurian was unique and something different. That crunchiness and that masala taste you won't get anywhere else even in the big hotels. They deep fry the Gobi and makes them enough crunchy that it will fulfill your mouth and tastebuds. The quanity which they provide per plate is very good. 2 people can easily fulfill their stomach in one plage. i felt it's Worth of that much hype.
But what's worst?
The worst part is you have to stand in the queue and that que can stretch upto 500 mtrs sometimes. Since it's a road side shop you have to wait on road like beggars waiting in temples for money or food. You have to wait for 1 hour or 2 hours even though you want only one plate Gobi and which I feel totally worthless. Wasting your 1 hour or 2 hours of time for that is totally waste. Since it's a very tiny shop there is not enough space for them to stand in shop. He makes only 8-9 plates per batch and they get over within 2 minutes if any one takes parcel of 2-3 plates and that happens everytime. So he takes lots of time to serve you. Waiting there for a very long time that too on road side is something which I feel waste of time.
But if you are a foodie and have ample of free time, then you can wait in the que and can enjoy the Gobi Manchurian. Its really unique...
Read moreI happened to be around JP Nagar, was searching for a Gobi Manchurian nearby and found this place. I thought it was just another Gobi Manchurian place but I was completely shocked by the people waiting in a long queue. We also waited for around half an hour and finally got to experience its taste and the first bite was like hot crispy gobi with flavours of all sauce. It was the best combination for the rainy weather and was totally worth it for the taste. The quantity and quality of the Gobi was good and my personal experience is we can't eat more due to it being too crispy.
I was able to witness the way of preparation and the secret of their crispy gobi is they keep preparing the hot fried gobi(unlike other shops where they keep fried dry gobi In-Stock ) and instantly add the dry gobi to prepare the gobi manchurian and serve us. That is the reason it consumes more time too unlike other shops but it's worth the taste.
The shop is small and you can easily locate it by seeing the long queue even during the weekdays, go early to be lucky to get the gobi else you would be disappointed to hear it is not available. It was unavailable by 8.30pm during the weekday, I am not sure...
