Get ready to dive into the deliciousness of SLV Corner, nestled in the heart of Basavanagudi, like a culinary time capsule. This joint is like a living piece of Bengaluru's rich cultural fabric, witnessing the city's ups and downs while serving up tasty treats for years. Basavanagudi, oh Basavanagudi, a locality steeped in history, is home to SLV Corner—a beloved go-to spot that has stood the test of time. You can practically smell the legacy in the air, as if the very essence of the city's heritage is infused in every nook and cranny of this place. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—SLV Corner's scrumptious South-Indian breakfast. This place may be another breakfast joint, but it's got a reputation that precedes it, especially in the local area. Their menu is a treasure trove of delights, ranging from crispy dosas, fluffy idlis, and tempting vada sambar to the heavenly puri saagu and comforting rice dishes. They've got all the classics covered, making it a breakfast haven for both locals and visitors alike. Walking into SLV Corner is like stepping into a whirlwind of activity. It's buzzing with hungry patrons, locals and tourists alike, all seeking their breakfast fix. But don't worry, the staff here are pros at keeping up with the demand, serving up piping hot dishes with a smile. As you sit amidst the charm of Basavanagudi, under the shade of trees, you can savor your breakfast and indulge in the age-old tradition of ending the meal with a cup of filter coffee. It's the kind of coffee that will transport you to a caffeine-fueled paradise, awakening your senses and leaving you ready to conquer the day. This place may not be as famous as the legendary Vidyarthi Bhavan or Mahalakshmi Tiffin Room, but it holds its own as a dependable and delightful option in the area. So, my foodie friends, when you find yourself in Basavanagudi, make a beeline for SLV Corner. Let the fragrant aroma of their delicious offerings guide you to a culinary experience that's steeped in tradition. SLV Corner is not just a breakfast joint—it's a slice of Bengaluru's gastronomic heritage, waiting to be savored. Bon appétit!

We visited the 'SLV Corner Restaurant' to relish an authentic South Indian breakfast yesterday morning. We had planned to drive down to another very famous legendary food outlet near ‘Shankar Math’, but it was closed and the owner of the restaurant suggested us to try SLV. He mentioned that SLV serves the exact same delicious South Indian delicacies and that both the restaurants belong to the same family and use the same recipes & preparation methodologies. We noticed that there were two SLV outlets, both just opposite to each other on the wide Bull Temple road. One of them is a sitting restaurant and the other one is a traditional standing South Indian darshini. We chose the latter, which had a very infectious energy and was buzzing with people even so early in the morning. There was a huge queue at the billing counter, which was the only place where we had to wait for a while. Otherwise, the service was very prompt and quick despite so much rush on a Sunday morning. We ordered Idli, Masala Dosa & Kesari Bath. While ordering, we were told that they have two variants of Idlis, one with Idlis dipped in Sambhar, and the other variant has Idlis dipped in coriander and coconut chutney. The Idlis were melt-in-the-mouth soft and delicious, a must try at SLV. We also loved their ‘Masala Dosa', which had a very unique masala filling – indeed very delicious, tangy and rich. Wonder how I had never heard about this place before as it is certainly a very famous legendary breakfast outlet, serving Bangaloreans since 1970’s. Must try breakfast outlet in Bangalore and a definite recommendation!

The SLV CORNER VEG RESTAURANT is Located at No. 42, Ramakrishna Ashram Circle, Vanvilas Road, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560004. The SLV CORNER VEG RESTAURANT is an old establishment that has been serving a variety of cuisines for many years. Offering Chinese, South Indian, North Indian, and Indian dishes, it caters to a wide range of palates. The restaurant provides various dining options, including delivery, fine dining, quick bite outlet, and take away, making it convenient for different dining preferences. As a pure vegetarian family restaurant, it boasts a serene ambiance and ample seating facilities, making it suitable for families and gatherings. Their menu features an array of South Indian delights such as idli, vada, sambar, dosa, savige bath, kesari bath, alongside North Indian and Chinese options. However, during my visit, I opted for the Palavu and tea coffee. While the food was satisfactory, it didn't stand out as exceptional. Service was a bit slow, and the pricing seemed steep considering the overall experience and taste. Despite the average food quality and slow service, the ambiance was pleasant, and restroom facilities were available. However, the pricing appeared to be on the higher side, not aligning well with the food's taste and quality. In conclusion, The SLV CORNER VEG RESTAURANT offers a decent dining experience with a diverse menu and comfortable ambiance.

One of the most iconic darshini near rama Krishna ashrama . I have been visiting this place since many many years ! After a jog at lalbagh this was my alternate to vidyarthi bhavan! . Coming to food I have eaten almost all the south Indian dishes here ! And they are all really good! 1.idly vada - I really love their samber , the hot fresh samber in the morning is heaven for me! The idly is soft and the vada have adequate size and are not oily !. 2.masala dosa - the dosa is very pretty famous here , they make some mean masala dosa not as good as vidyarthi bhavan but definitely one of the good ones . 3.puri and saguu - the puri are quite big and not oily , the saguu is pretty tasty !. 4.chow chow bath - they are also pretty amazing ! The tangy karabath and the sweet kesaribath make an awesome combination! . 5.coffee - 2 words .......Filter coffee ! I always visit the darshini but they also have service hall right across the street ! . If your in for a quick amazing breakfast! Visit this place ! Must try once for all foodies !

It had been ages since we last visited this place and we tried it out on the Independence day. Ample parking available on the street and easily accessible to wheelchairs. The tables are arranged a bit too close, the AC section is slightly better off. It gets buzzy when filled. It was a good experience this day. Started off with Manchow soup. Lots of veggies with some tomato pieces there too. It was just right on spices. Next for starters, we tried crispy golden babycorn. This was a bit less crispier whole babycorn with a yummy sauce to go with. Mushroom Manchurian was okay. For the main course, we had stuffed parantha, manchow fried rice and butter kulcha. I forgot the name of the gravy, but it was awesome. Paneer and mushroom mixed with masala gave it a distinct flavour. Finally washed off with lassi. The price was very competitive and fair for the quantity and the quality. I do recommend this place and will be back myself again if an opportunity arises.

A very old vegetarian restaurant which really serves the best food at the best price and best quality since 1974, First time in life tried Rava Vada and it was pretty good, they do have many options of tiffin items, chat and Dessert as well and very nicely made tea and coffee for which this place has a special group of crowd, anytime you find at least 25ppl standing and enjoying this hot beverages, we friends tried Masala Dosa, Dahi wada, Rava wada, Pulao, Coffee and Gulab Jamoon, to be frank you can say anything bad about any product, Masala Dosa was top notch,Quality of Chutney was great, for tea and coffee they still use the Nandini Blue Milk packet till date, as usual self service, but standing tables are available anytime with 100% cleaning, good place one should definitely try and Much recommended, Really loved this place, cost wise I would say the most affordable, a food destination for all groups of people
