I didn't know that this is a famous place and the usual Foodies will flock to such small traditional eat outs in this area and enjoy the food. Happened to be walking around that area and was hungry and saw the name and just entered to what is one of my unsatisfactory eating experiences ever all due to the arrogant mentality of the owner.
Place was empty when I went at 12:15 PM, however they made me wait a good 10 mins before beginning the serving. Not an issue by itself. But once the Water glass was kept, the Owner came in and literally threw the Banana leaf on the table!!! Blatant disrespect.
Food by itself is not that great to be honest. The usual South Indian Brahmin fare. There was an Avial, Palya, Sambar, Rasam, Curd with Papad and Pickle. If you opt for the special meal, you'll get a small cup of Payasam and Vadai apparently. The regular meals costed 80/-
When tried paying for the meal by Google Pay, the arrogant owner once again denied to give the scanner and told me that he accepts Paytm. I genuinely didn't have cash, then he grumbled a little and showed the QR code while complaining about how Banks are penalizing him for small amount deposits and how I don't even have 100/- Rs in my Wallet. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss. The Iyer mess in between 7th and 8th cross further down the road gives you much better service and better tasting food at just 70/-

Read moreNot recommended, a big no👎🏻 Service is way below reasonably acceptable standards. No liquid hand wash to cleanse hands, buggah provides newspaper when asked for tissues, water glasses not clean (flakes / particles can be seen in the water provided, maybe to promote bottled water sales). It has nothing to do with the tag "Iyer Mess", an insult to Iyers I could say. Food taste is merely ok, white rice is loaded with soda, no vegetables whatsoever in sambar. A roadside eatery would serve a better sambar. And yeah ₹90 for a worthless meal. ₹10 extra for vada / paayasam / chapati / buttermilk. Size of vada is not worth even ₹5, paayasam (
