Ever had a dining experience so disappointing that you found yourself counting down the minutes until it was over, just so you could leave? That was my unfortunate reality at Persian Terrace. I’m genuinely baffled by the glowing reviews this place receives. It’s as if those reviewers have never tasted authentic Mediterranean cuisine or are just dishing out 5-star ratings without any real thought. If you’re thinking about dining here, I urge you to read the negative reviews first—they offer a much clearer, and sadly accurate, portrayal of what you’re in for.
Let’s start with the service. It was fine—nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad. But that’s where any semblance of satisfaction ended. The real issue was the food, which was, in a word, dreadful. We decided to try the 4-course set menu, which, at over 3200+ taxes per person, was supposed to offer a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, what we received was anything but. For a restaurant that claims to be high-end, the quality of the food was shockingly poor.
The hummus platter? It was about as basic as it gets—bland and uninspired. The babaganoush? It tasted nothing like the real deal. I’ve traveled to the Middle East multiple times, and I can confidently say that this was a far cry from authentic. I tried to overlook it and move on, but things only got worse.
Next came the non-veg platter. The chicken was tough and flavorless, the prawns were overcooked to the point of being inedible, and the fish was dry and hard. It was as if they’d forgotten how to cook altogether. The biryani was equally disappointing—completely devoid of any flavor. By the time I finished, I felt more defeated than full.
And then there was my friend’s veg platter. Watching him struggle to find something edible on his plate was almost painful. The massive, unseasoned stem of broccoli sat there like a cruel joke, while the paneer was so heavily spiced that it overwhelmed any possibility of enjoying the dish. He ended up eating a few bites of potato, and that was it. Even the rice, something so simple, was unimpressive.
When dessert finally arrived, we were clinging to the hope that it might redeem the meal, but that hope quickly faded. The only remotely palatable item was the ice cream, and that’s only because it’s hard to mess up something so basic. But by then, it was too little, too late.
As we drove home, we couldn’t stop talking about how awful the entire experience had been. The overwhelming feeling was one of guilt—for wasting our money, our evening, and our appetites on a place that promised so much and delivered so little.
If you’re someone who enjoys being disappointed and throwing money away, then by all means, give Persian Terrace a try. But if you value your time, money, and taste buds, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this so-called fine...
Read moreOh My God... What can I say about this place..??? I am out of Words. Honestly I am out of Words. Still I must admit that I chose Sheraton than Taj Yeshwanthpur. Because of the Awesome Assistance provided by Sheraton Staff as compared to Staff at Taj. Who were literally coxing us to go for Buffet. Anyway, lets leave Taj and not waste any time talking about the poor hospitality of Taj. Talking about the friendliness of Sheraton Staff.. They were extremely attentive. They took care of us Really Really Well. Apart from suggesting some mouthwatering dishes the service provided was Amazing. From the beginning till the end they were simply Awesome. I would surely suggest everyone to go for Sheraton and nowhere else. The dishes we ordered were damn tasty and filling. We were quite full with just 2 dishes that we didn't have space for anything else. Yet the Chef was extremely kind and served us with dessert is his choice which was just out of this World. Inspite of not having any space for more I still ended up finishing the entire dessert. Finally the Guy was kind enough to show us around the other restaurants in Sheraton and the cusine they serve. With this kind of experience.. I feel that I must visit this place more often. Ofcourse Ultra High Lounge has always been my fav. which i visit quite often. Finally I would like to Thank one and all who made my Birthday so Special and an experience to remember. A Big...
Read moreWe booked The Persian Terrace for New Year Eve's dinner unfortunately it was a rainy evening here in Bengaluru. Sheraton Grand being a top hotel wasn't prepared to handle it. It was raining since 6 pm and we reached the venue around 8 pm and still these people were unable to make alternate arrangements. We were asked to wait while they fixed a table, and then nobody bothered to follow up. I had to literally ask the manager if he is aware how he's putting the reputation of the hotel at stake by being so careless and not attending the guests since so many of us were just wondering where to sit. Eventually we were given a table.. no napkins, no cutlery, no water. Nothing. It was bad experience. The bartender made horrible drinks.. I've had better cocktails at Bengaluru pubs and The Persian Terrace clearly was a disappointment. Owing to the rain, the buffet food was placed here and there, most people couldn't eat everything because they had no idea what's where. We paid around 5000 per person and trust me the quality of service and food was worth 1200 per person or may be less. I had better expectations from Sheraton but the incompetent team was clearly not equipped to handle the crowd as well as the situation. The only good part, desserts.. that's it.. apart from this ... It was a mess!
Sorry Sheraton, I was initially planning for Shangri-La .. sad I ended...
