Read moreI visited Tom’s Restaurant with my family for my dad’s birthday dinner. The venue was quiet and I was pleased to find that there was ample parking for my car. We sat at a table for 4 since we were 4 and made our order.
The food arrived and the waiter kept buttermilk initially and then served food. As he served food, he dropped the buttermilk which he had placed on the floor and some spilled on the table as well. While he sorted out the issue by getting it cleaned and getting a replacement glass, instead of apologising for the mistake he pointed out that we should have taken the 6 seater table nearby as it would have avoided this disaster.
Despite this pathetic experience, the other staff were courteous, esp. the guy who took our order and overall the food was great and tasted scrumptious. I did initially feel some disappointment that soup was not included in the Mangalorean cuisine as I was really looking forward to some seafood soup but nevertheless it wasn’t a big deal as opposed to this mishap and further reaction by the unapologetic waiter. I really hope that Tom’s improves their service so I can change my mind and perhaps visit with friends and family again in the near future for a...
