Urban Monkey Cafe — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I ordered 4 items from this restaurant through Swiggy and had the worst experience ever. They informed me that one item was unavailable, and gave me the option to choose an alternative through the app, which I did. Then they started preparing it. Next, they cancelled the other 3 items in the order because they had no stocks of those either. Since I was ordering for a family of 4, I would rather have cancelled the entire order than have 1 item delivered, and all the items were ultimately unavailable though they could be selected (and paid for) online. All this within a time span of 5-10min while chatting with the Swiggy customer care who spoke to them as well. Then they wanted to charge me an extra 250 Rs for cancelling. But by then the restaurant sent the order for delivery, which I got to know when the delivery person called me. So what was the point? So basically, I spent close to 500 Rs. for a 350 Rs dish and had to make other arrangements for lunch. To be fair and honest, the food was quite good (had opted for grilled fish). But still was not worth it, definitely would not order from there again because of the overall delivery experience. Quite an impressive place this. Located in a quiet lane off Sarjapur road, it has loads of space filled with tables which are neatly spaced out. You've got options for both indoor and outdoor seating, so choose as you wish :).

We ordered the Chicken Tikka Burger, Peri Peri Chicken Burger and Chicken Stroganoff. Both the burgers were of a really good size and were served with fries. Taste wise they were extremely yummy with the peri peri chicken burger having a hint of spicy taste (as expected). The size of the burger makes them quite filling and you might be done for the meal with just a burger.

The Chicken Stroganoff tasted just like how it's supposed to, nice creamy and soothing taste. PERFECT. One small complaint I have here is that they serve good quantity of rice but not enough quantity of the mushroom sauce. Some more sauce along with the rice would make it awesome.

Service is quite quick and waiting time is minimal. Price wise I feel this place has hit the bulls-eye with you getting a good value for your spend.

If I could give this zero or negative feedback, then also it would be too much. Firstly they have deleted my review on Zomato. The breakfast here was extremely bad. The pancakes very as hard as papads and as dry as bhel puri. Not even joking. It just crumbled into pieces. I ordered the English breakfast and the beans were tasting extremely weird. It had some masala taste also. The bread was hard and did not look or taste fresh. I cannot honestly believe that the restaurant deleted my review and would highly recommend people to avoid this nonsense place as much as possible. If the owner wants to have only good reviews, then he/she must make sure that food is good....
