Two of us gathered to have dinner for an occasion at this place. First of all the location is near Nalban, sector V, very close to the food park, well connected by bus, auto and cabs to other popular places. From the sector V metro station it is 2 km away. However, after 10 pm the area is a bit quiet. Talking about the ambience, it is exotic. One who is conversant with Gupi gayeen Bagha Bayen movie is bound to love this place. The concept is like we have come to a bamboo jungle and we met the king of ghost (as the name suggests) for the boons. The interior is decorated with ghostly things along with a large photo of the legend Satyajit Ray. The chairs are made up of bamboo. The foods are seved on heavy bronze dishes along with other bronze cutleries. We have ordered 'Sundi Rajar Thali' (which contained lemon, Govindobhog chaler murgi polao, bhuter pora kalo khasir mangso, fish fries, chatny, papad, rasogolla) and paneer polao. All the items taste extremely good with authentic Bengalee taste. The fish fry is very nice to taste though the sizes are small. The mutton item is extremely dry. One has to clap with his or her friend to get the foods served as per their ritual. Just to mention few points of improvement like, the wash room facility in this outlet should be improved, light illumination should be sufficient and the chairs look good but to some extent should be more ergonomic and comfortable. The lead time of serving is close to 15 mins and foods are served fresh and hot. The behaviour of the staff members are very professional and cordial at the same time. Food are more or less price wise okay. Highly recommended!!

"Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor" is a delightful Bengali restaurant that offers an immersive culinary experience rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Bengal. The ambiance of the restaurant transports you to a bygone era with its vintage décor, reminiscent of old Bengali households, complete with antique furniture, traditional artwork, and a warm, homely atmosphere. The menu is a treasure trove of authentic Bengali dishes, expertly crafted to showcase the region's diverse flavors. From the classic "Shorshe Ilish" (hilsa fish in mustard sauce) to the hearty "Kosha Mangsho" (slow-cooked mutton curry), every dish is a testament to the chefs' dedication to preserving the authenticity of Bengali cuisine. The use of fresh, local ingredients ensures that each bite is bursting with flavor. The restaurant's namesake, inspired by a famous Bengali folktale, adds a whimsical charm to the dining experience. The staff, dressed in traditional attire, provide attentive service, making sure every guest feels like they are part of the story. Whether you're a fan of Bengali food or trying it for the first time, "Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor" offers a memorable and satisfying culinary journey through Bengal's rich gastronomic traditions.

Our experience was totally pathetic. Please Do Not fall for PAID REVIEWS. On 28th July, I went to this restaurant with my wife and was utterly surprised to find that we have to wait outside on the road on a rainy day. It was a regular weekday afternoon and still we had to wait. The most weird thing is they couldn't mention how long we have to wait. After waiting for 30 mins we were allowed to sit inside and were astonished to find other customers were also waiting for their food. Most interesting thing is while we were waiting outside for half an hour, no one entered the restaurant. We were the only people waiting. Hence it was clear to us that all customers of mostly all tables(except 2 tables where people were eating) were waiting for their food for over 30mins. When we selected our menu and ordered, we were told that we have to wait for more than 40mins for food as they were cooking and would be proving FRESH FOOD. After waiting for another 30mins we were provided food. We thought that after waiting for so much time, the food taste and quality might reduce our grudge, but that didn't happen. One of their customers complained about stale fish in front of us. We didn't get stale food though, but the taste was below average. Quantity was okay. We also provided the review to the Manager but his reaction was very passive and was ready to provide loads of excuses. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANY ONE. THINK MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE VISITING.

Went for a family lunch, to start with, disclaimer 1 - this place does not have valet and getting a parking in that area during office hours is a tough one, however post parking our car comes the 2nd disclaimer, this place is a tiny miny matchbox place with very few seating options but somehow we were smart to jam in before the office comrades could creep up, ok now comes the 3rd disclaimer this place is understaffed only 2-3 servers to attend & sometimes the gatekeeper becomes a server as well, ok sorry!! but 4th disclaimer this place is not up to the mark tidy, though they have tried their best to convert it to a dungeon as per the concept but you might re-think if you see a spider web! you may not know it can be a real one and the filth I saw in their kitchen when I peeped (being a bad boy) through while washing my hands was inexplicable, however since barged in with family hence continued our lunch, postor bora was a flop (how can you do this to a ghoti??), dabh chingri was ok you get better elsewhere, star was the bhetki fish fry and I dont think there nothing special in the Gupi or Bagha thali, overall maybe the ambience and service marred my entire experience but I must say the Hatibagan branch is the one to go for...if all the bhoots are down for a day and only this bhoot is present then please seek this or else Avoid!!

Good evening friends! Visited Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor for the first time..and trust me I was back to my childhood days of watching Gupi Gayan Bhagha Bayen😀😀 Exterior and interior was best tried to give a look of bhooter bari...it was cute but a lil uncomfortable because of lack of space. To create that particular vibe lights were too dim which was very uncomfortable for senior citizens. Coming to food...oh!! It was beyond imagination.. it was an absolute justice to the name. What a spread and what taste..supper tasty, lip smacking😋😋 it was huge spread.. We ordered one Hirok Raja r thali and rest alacarte Thali had steamed rice, ghee, patali lebu, jhoori bhaja, aalo posto, shukto, kathal aalo, aaloo dum, maacher maatha diye Sona mooh dal, paturi, ilish shorshe, kosha mangsho, kochuri, and chingri jhol. Food is extremely tasty and not typically kolkata style which has a lil tinge of sweetness in dishes I would recommend you all to visit the place atleast once. 👍 And request the local administration and manager of the restaurant to kindly build a proper shaded waiting area.. standing in long queues for 30-40 mins in this scorching sun is a torture

If you want to try Bengali food then Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor will definitely be the one for you. It's a proper bengali restaurant & their service and quality of food is top notch. I would highly recommend to have any of their Thali items ( goopir, baghar, hirak rajar thali). Ofcourse you can also try and order items separately from the menu, although that would become way more expensive that way. The restaurant decor is inspired from movies and it does add a great feel to it. Now in terms of pricing I'll definitely say that the place is quite expensive (Ironically most of the Bengali restaurants are the most expensive ones in Kolkata). If you are bengali then your parents won't be too happy about spending this much on food that they could have just made in their own kitchen😂. Anyways, if you want to try authentic Bengali food then this place offers what you are looking for. The Jadavpur branch is in a more accessible place, Salt Lake area is a bit difficult to commute without a personal vehicle especially at night.
