Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor - Sector V salt lake — Restaurant in Bidhannagar

I am utterly disappointed with my recent visit to Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor restaurant. The lack of space in this place is beyond belief; it feels incredibly cramped and claustrophobic. The dining area is so ghinjy, it's suffocating!

To make matters worse, the ambiance is incredibly dark, making it nearly impossible to enjoy a meal or even see what you're eating. Speaking of which, the ilish fish served here was a nightmare. The bones were stubbornly embedded in every bite, making it an arduous task to remove them.

Additionally, the toilet facilities were extremely inadequate. The limited space provided no room to even turn around, creating an uncomfortable and unsanitary experience. Not to mention the lack of even an urinal.

As if that wasn't enough, the waiting time was outrageously long. I had to endure a 40+ minute wait inside the restaurant, only to find out there was an equally lengthy line outside, subjecting me to the scorching heat.

Furthermore, the quality of the mutton dish was highly disappointing. The meat tasted cheap and lacked the tenderness and flavor one would expect.

What truly irked me was the exorbitant pricing. The menu items were overpriced and definitely not reasonable considering the poor quality and overall subpar dining experience.

To add insult to injury, the "fruits basket" turned out to be nothing more than a small petri dish. The fruit called "jamrul" was not only wet but also rotten. This level of negligence is simply unacceptable.

I highly urge everyone to steer clear of Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor restaurant. Given the lack of space, oppressive atmosphere, difficulty in removing fish bones, inadequate toilet facilities, excessively long waiting times, subpar mutton quality, exorbitant prices, and the presence of rotten fruit, this establishment fails to meet even the most basic standards of a decent dining experience. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration by exploring other dining options instead. I highly do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Two of us gathered to have dinner for an occasion at this place. First of all the location is near Nalban, sector V, very close to the food park, well connected by bus, auto and cabs to other popular places. From the sector V metro station it is 2 km away. However, after 10 pm the area is a bit quiet. Talking about the ambience, it is exotic. One who is conversant with Gupi gayeen Bagha Bayen movie is bound to love this place. The concept is like we have come to a bamboo jungle and we met the king of ghost (as the name suggests) for the boons. The interior is decorated with ghostly things along with a large photo of the legend Satyajit Ray. The chairs are made up of bamboo. The foods are seved on heavy bronze dishes along with other bronze cutleries. We have ordered 'Sundi Rajar Thali' (which contained lemon, Govindobhog chaler murgi polao, bhuter pora kalo khasir mangso, fish fries, chatny, papad, rasogolla) and paneer polao. All the items taste extremely good with authentic Bengalee taste. The fish fry is very nice to taste though the sizes are small. The mutton item is extremely dry. One has to clap with his or her friend to get the foods served as per their ritual. Just to mention few points of improvement like, the wash room facility in this outlet should be improved, light illumination should be sufficient and the chairs look good but to some extent should be more ergonomic and comfortable. We visited here today i.e. on the occasion of poila baisakh. Please note this is not our first visit to Bhooter raja. We have visited their Jadavapur branch previously and we really liked the food and their hospitality. With such a hope we planned to visit their sector v branch on poila baishakh (14/4/2024). The service was very slow, considering the rush on poila baisakh we ignored it. Then the concerned person came for order. They had a curated menu for poila baishakh. So we were ordering from their set menu. But alas whatever we were picking starting from gondhoraj ghol to malpo they said it's not serviceable. Few items they served but was hesitating to take order. On enquiring that it was in their curated menu still why most items are unserviceable. One of the concerned person very bluntly said in this branch this is how they are servicing. They can't provide any such items. My question is that if a branch doesn't follow the set menu of a restaurant then they should clearly mention it on zomato Or any where they are advertising. After such a long waiting hour if you get to hear such things it is really undesirable. Plus the behavior of the concerned person was very very rude.
