Karim’s Restaurant near Jama Masjid is one of the oldest and most talked-about names in Delhi’s Mughlai food scene, but unfortunately, the experience does not always live up to the legendary reputation. While it’s undeniably famous and holds strong historical value, the overall dining experience can be underwhelming. The place is always overcrowded regardless of the time or day, and it’s common to face a long waiting period before you even get seated. The restaurant feels rushed and chaotic at times due to the sheer volume of people, and service can be slow. Pricing is on the higher side and when compared to the portion sizes served, it feels overpriced. The quantity is low especially when you’re dining in a group or expecting a full meal. While many expect a rich, flavorful, authentic Mughlai feast, the food is just average in terms of taste and nowhere near the hype that surrounds it.
