This place has a great ambiance with mesmerizing view of the hauz khas lake. This place is situated in the bylanes of hauz khas village. Nearby attractions are hauz khas fort and lake. The village itself is beautiful.
Staff here are well trained and friendly. There are two floors and an open dine in area...first floor is designated specially for drinks. Matchbox is also one of my favourites for sports screening and the energy here on match days is amazing. DJ plays awesome tracks and If you are looking for quite conversations, rooftop seating is the best place.
I still found it overpriced...you can still have good option under the same price range. However food I feel was not up-to the mark. Didn't order anything else after getting disappointed by their food. They should really work on their taste and Quality.
~ Must try dished - Pork Fry, Pork Ribs, Chicken Lasagna, Chicken Lollypop, Chicken Nuggets, Cocktail. ~ Cost - 2000/- per person with alcohol. ~ Timings -...

Disappointments: We ordered watermelon and fetta cheese salad, which was modestly priced for about Rs.500 but it only had watermelon pieces and little fetta cheese. In no way was it a salad, so we felt a bit deceived by this considering we paid a full meal price. "Don't call it a salad if it is just watermelon cut and presented on a nice plate." We also had cold coffees, which was just OKAY. Overall just for these three things we paid like INR 1300 buck!!!!!! Not the most pocket friendly either.
Second, we loved the ambiance, no doubt!! But the (live) music was quite loud so it felt like we had to talk louder among ourselves.
OVERALL, I recommend it for an amazing vibe they offer and for maybe beers. But be careful of...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed and shocked by the blatant discrimination at Matchbox Club, Hauz Khas. My friend and I traveled all the way from Gurgaon (about 40–50 km) just to visit this place, having previously been regulars back when it was a smaller club. We even called in advance to confirm entry and were told it wouldn’t be an issue.
But when we arrived, the staff flatly denied us entry without any valid reason. What made it worse — and very clear — was that other guests, including foreigners (Nigerians, Asians), were being allowed in while we were not. The way we were treated felt outright racist and biased.
It’s frustrating to see how a club that grew because of people like us now shows zero respect for Indian patrons. This place has clearly changed for the worse. Waste of our time, money, and energy.
Strongly advise others to avoid this place if you value basic respect and...
