It’s difficult to muster the courage to eat out after a pandemic has slowed down but not completely wiped off and I took this this hard decision recently and chose to visit Moonshine 2.0 at Aurobindo Market which has an open seating which was my first preference and comparatively a new property.
The ambience is quite good especially the balcony seating. The rooftop seating looks pretty nice too but it’s only good for late evenings. For the winter afternoons or early evening when the sun is still out, the balcony seating is the perfect place to be at while at Moonshine.
They have a very short and no nonsense food menu and we began our meal with “Jalapeno Stuffed Mozarella Sticks” and “Chips & Dips”. The huge cheese & jalapeno stuffed sticks along with a spicy mayo dip were a total delight. The cheese was stuffed in abundance and the sticks were quite crisp from the outside too. The Chips & Dips didn’t match the description mentioned in the menu completely. The three types of hummus were good, though a little bit of consistency would have made them even better. It was mentioned that the hummus would be accompanied with Pita & Lavaash but for some strange reason the Pita was replaced by cheese garlic breads. We being cheese garlic breads fans too, didn’t complain but it could bother some.
Moving to the main course, we ordered an “Achari Paneer Pizza” & “Penne Alfredo Pasta”. The pizza was quite bland and literally had no sauce spread on it’s base. The toppings were very minimal too. The pasta was quite good as the boil level was near perfect and the sauce was very consistent and the bread accompanying it were very nice toasted and smeared with a lot of butter.
The shakes section in the drinks wasn’t available, so we were left with no option but to opt for the mocktails. We ordered a “Virgin Kiwi & Lime”, “Virgin Mojito” & a “Watermelon Lemonade” at different junctures of our meal. Virgin Mojito was a bit over sweet, but the rest of them were fine and very refreshing and quite nice looking too.
The service was quick for the most part, got shoddy towards the end. The worst part though was that most of the stewards were not wearing any mask which was a bit of a surprise and did not inflict any confidence in me as this was my first dining experience post the covid pandemic set in and it might keep me away from dining out at least for sometime now.
Overall, the place definitely has potential and with a little more attention to small details towards their menu and covid norms, they can definitely turn this place in a great...
Read moreI loved this new Moonshine much better than the older one in HKV. Location: This is located in the Aurobindo Market, and is on the rooftop (they also have inside seating on a lower floor). Parking is ample and right in front of the restaurant. Ambience, seating and music: The ambience is amazing! The rooftop is so beautiful, it's one of the best places for a date night in Delhi. The lighting is lovely as well, perfect for good pictures. The seating is cozy and comfortable, perfect for big groups, families or couples. We had a singer playing live music and there is an area for dancing here as well. The actual dance floor is on the lower level but it is obviously not open due to covid restrictions at the moment. Menu: The drinks menu is great and almost everything was available when I visited. The same goes for the food menu. Food (Quality, quantity, presentation, taste): I ordered Jalapeno Cheese Poppers, Vietnamese Grilled Chicken, Spaghetti Alfredo with Chicken (my favourite dish of the lot) and Garlic Rice with Sesame Chicken and Vegetables. The presentation was alluring. The portion size was more than adequate for all the dishes. The quality of ingredients used was very good too. Drinks: I ordered the Blueberry and Elderflower spritzer, Rosemary and Ginger spritzer, Moonshine Monster and virgin Pina Colada. All the drinks were refreshing and the alcoholic drinks were satisfactory in terms of alcohol levels. They also looked great! Prices: The dishes and drinks are adequately priced and along with the whole experience, it was total value for money. Staff and Service: The staff was polite and knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks and pretty helpful in choosing the items too. The service was excellent! I am definitely coming back for their Ladies' night with my girls, for brunch with my family and date night with...

We had a few drinks along with food dishes and liked all of them.
White sangria: started with white sangria. It was a perfect blend. Refreshing. A perfect cocktail, with a hint of vodka. Topped with club soda. Green and red apple cubes.
Power stroke LIIT: A perfect blend of various spirit. Vodka, tequila, triple sec, and gin. Hint of light rum. Blue Curacao at the bottom. Topped with ice cubes. All white spirits and blue Curacao gave it a much needed colour.
Storm bull: A vodka based drink with the energy of red bull. Refreshing. Water melon based drink. Had ice cubes.
Pinacolada: Needs no introduction. Delicious. A bit thick than expected but at the end it was great.
In food, we started with paneer tikka. Four pieces of paneer tikka. Two varieties of paneer tikka. Served with green chutney and onion.
Obsessive nachos: Loaded nachos. Topped wit cheese, pico de gallo and rajma puree. Crispy nachos goes well with drinks.
Dahi ke kebab: Soft and luscious kebabs. Perfectly stuffed kebab. Loved every bite. Five pieces in one serving. Crispy yet melting kebab. Served with green chutney and onion.
In main course, we had combination of paneer tikka masala along with chicken tikka masala. Combination of veg and non-veg served with tandoori roti. Both the dishes were delicious. Paneer as well as chicken pieces were grilled perfectly.
Overall, this is a nice place to have good food with refreshing drinks along...
