Qureshi's Kebabs are famous all over Delhi; a single visit here is mandatory if you're a non-veg appreciator. Qureshi has such a name that there are numerous eateries having spin-off names with little to no variation all over the capital city.
Although Qureshi is known for "kebabs", we also wanted to try their other dishes, thus tried their combo along with the kebabs. Qureshi houses two sitting areas for family/couples and singles, and both of them are jam-packed in the evenings. Thus, we had to wait for a solid ten minutes for our seats. The food was delivered fast by an elderly gentleman who works tirelessly even in his old age.
The Kebabs were delivered hot dipped in melted butter which indeed tasted heavenly, scoring 5 out of 5. The kebabs were prepared in such a way that they melted in the mouth sprinkling distinct flavours. It can be eaten individually, with provided onions or with Rumali Roti, according to individual preference.
The contents of the Golden Combo are numerous which would be more than enough for a single person and might be enough for two. It is designed specifically for take-out and not for dine-in. It is a steal deal at ₹280, if you are ready to compromise on the quality. The contents had:
Chicken Biryani (4 / 5) - minimal quantity for a single person, tasted good, nothing fancy. Chicken Korma (3 / 5) - good quantity, nicely prepared, ordinary. Chicken Changezi (5 / 5) - average quantity, tasted excellent with all kinds of flavours bursting in the mouth. Butter Chicken (4 / 5) - chicken pieces, fried and dipped in butter; tasted quite nice. Shahi Kheer (5 / 5) - just the right amount of sweetness and texture, served cold. Chicken Kebabs (3 / 5) - 2 pieces of pieces, but without butter and earlier packed; tasted bad. Always order separate kebabs if you want to take the real feel. Rumali Roti (5 / 5) - Nicely prepared roti wrapped in aluminium foil Coke - chilled coke to top it up.
Overall, the preparation was indeed good, scores full points for dine-in and requires improvement in the...
Read moreWhen you are in New Delhi, you are bound to visit all the famous eating joints in the city. Qureshi Kabab Corner is one such place that you must visit to try out some of the most tastiest Kababs ever.
This food joint is very famous and has a very rich history as well. They are known for their unique taste and never disappoint anyone who visits them. We tried two of the dishes they offer. Due to COVID-19 situation we had to parcel the food as we wanted to avoid the crowd, they are always crowded and one has to wait for a while to get their order. So, after placing the order we visited the Jama Masjid which is right opposite to the shop and by the time we were back our order was ready.
The Chicken Kabab roll is entirely dependent on the Kababs. If the Kababs are good then the roll will be delicious for sure. The outer layer is not burnt and the inner layer is so juicy with every bite you take.
Our next dish had to be the famous Kababs. I must say this was a mind opener to me, the Kababs you get in Bengaluru is so much more different than what you get in Delhi. These kababs are mouth watering, so juicy, and so delicious that you cannot stop at one.
The only con for this place is you might have to wait a while to get your order, and waiting on the packed streets near Jama Masjid is just not easy. They are worth the wait but I would suggest you take a round and visit the near by places and then come collect your order. They are not so expensive on the wallet either and they fill you up good.
You can find them at Urdu Bazar Rd, Meena Bazaar, Kalan Mehal, Old Delhi, New Delhi,...
Read moreQureshi Kabab Corner located near Jama Masjid is one of the most popular street-side kebab joints in Old Delhi and is especially famous among the younger crowd and food explorers looking for local flavours. The place is almost always crowded especially in the evenings and weekends with long waiting times being the norm rather than the exception. There’s usually a huge rush and limited standing space near the cooking area as people gather to get their orders quickly. While it doesn’t offer a typical restaurant ambiance or formal service setup there is a separate seating area available at the backside which is basic but useful if you prefer to sit and eat. The overall vibe is more like a classic Delhi food street experience rather than a dine-in restaurant. The kebabs themselves are quite good with a distinct smoky flavour and well-done marination that reflects traditional Mughlai cooking. The mutton seekh and chicken kababs are tender and flavorful and served fresh off the grill. However the prices are quite high considering the quantity and the street-food setting. Many customers may feel the food is slightly overpriced especially when compared to other outlets in the area offering similar items at more reasonable rates. That said the taste and freshness do make it worth trying at least once especially if you enjoy kebabs and want to explore iconic local spots. Overall Qureshi Kabab Corner is worth a visit for the taste and experience but be prepared for long waits high prices and...
