UMMIS KITCHEN — Restaurant in Edapally

I recently visited Ummis Kitchen, located near Edappally Lulu Mall, and I must say my overall experience was quite disappointing. Although the restaurant has a neat and spacious setup with seating on both the ground floor and first floor, the service and food quality were well below expectations.

We ordered half chicken peri-peri manthi along with a biriyani. Despite the fact that it was not a rush day, we had to wait nearly 45 minutes before our food arrived. During that time, I noticed several other customers also waiting impatiently, and some even looked frustrated. The service staff seemed inattentive and poorly managed, which made the waiting experience worse.

When the food finally came, it was below average in taste considering the price charged. The chicken peri-peri manthi lacked flavor balance, and the biriyani did not stand out either. Another surprising thing was that they do not serve drinking water at the table until the food is served. In my opinion, this is a basic courtesy that any restaurant should follow.

While the restaurant looks clean and is comfortable in terms of space, the poor service and unimpressive food make it hard to recommend. For the price they charge, there are definitely better...

If you're ever around Lulu Mall in Cochin and looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal, Ummis Kitchen is a place that you should definitely consider. I personally feel it is one among the best restaurants in that area. The variety of dishes available here is truly impressive—whether you’re craving something traditional or spicy street-style, you’ll find something to please your taste buds.

One of the highlights for me every time I visit Lulu is making a stop at Ummis Kitchen. It has almost become a routine because the food here never disappoints. Among all the options, my personal favorite is their Kothu Porotta. It's not just tasty, but also served in a very generous quantity. In fact, one plate is more than enough for two people if you’re not extremely hungry. The dish is rich with flavor, perfectly balanced with spices, and has that classic street-style charm that you often don't find in mall-side restaurants.

The ambiance is neat and welcoming, and the service is quite prompt despite the usual crowd. Overall, Ummis Kitchen offers a great dining experience at a reasonable price. If you’re visiting Lulu Mall and craving something delicious and filling, I highly recommend giving Ummis...

I had the worst experience eating from this restaurant. This is probably the most horrifying restaurant all across Kochi. I ate from the restaurant beside railway station and I must say it was terrible.

I ordered wheat porotta which was okayish but the chicken curry was an absolute disaster. I've never eaten something as disgusting as this in my entire life. They also quoted a humongous price costing around Rs.170 for four tiny bits of chicken which was overcooked and wasn't fresh. In fact I believe the chicken must have been made 3 days ago..Overall, it's a poorly maintained and filthy restaurant and I do not recommend this to anyone. They are scamming you all.
