There are some places you just cannot miss when you're in a new city! If you call yourself a foodie, you would be elevated to a food critic after dining here. I started light with their Special seafood soup; it was quick to overwhelm all my senses. In the 22 years of my existence, never have I ever had such a delectable "experience". The soup was creamy with a hint of nuttiness, which I believe came from cashews, and was on the right side of spiceness from the peppers not exactly cooked along with the soup, so as to separate the flavours. The saltiness was imparted by the shrimps and fish, but it was a touch sweet (about 5%). If I had to make this soup, I'd add crumbs of cartilage for crunchiness. Anyway, the soup, like all good things, came to an end, something which I savoured every bit of. I had to skip to dessert for which I ordered apple pie. I went against my hunch and the waiter's suggestion of Devil's chocolate cake. Sad to say, I ended up being disappointed. I officially dislike apple pie. Also something that was unfortunate was my appetite. I was 'fulfilled' before I knew it, and had to take away my main course with me. Overindulgence didn't seem to do justice to the kind of food it was, so I heated it up the next day for dinner. It was Kadhai Jhinga (shrimp), much like kadhai paneer that we North Indians are familiar with. Point of note: Jhinga doesn't go with the flavours of the kadhai masala. The ambience of the place was amazing! I especially enjoyed the music that was playing. It felt like it was curated for me, imploring me to stay for longer, which I did. The staff was very courteous, befitting of the identity of the brand and the warm and welcoming vibe of the place. In conclusion, I would want to keep coming back to The Fisherman's Wharf, as no other place comes close to leaving an impression this strong. Shoutout to Herojit for his exceptional suggestions and service! Best of luck, and hope to meet you again! Edit: visited the place once again! Absolutely blown away by the food! Again, exceptional service, and great recommendations! They were not serving fresh catches as they themselves didn't purchase the stale catch they were getting in the market (due to some back-end fishermen issues). I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the dish (I suppose it was kingfish prepared in butter and garlic), but it was scrumptious. Even the bread that came with it was prepared with great flair. But, the kokum fizz was not worth the price. A 20-rupee drink being charged for 250. It should be made complementary with orders above a certain value. People would appreciate the gesture. Anyway, thank you Sheetal for your service! Convey my regards. Fisherman's wharf has a special place in my heart now! I even took a song back with me, and it'll serve to remind me of this place. Bumped up a star, because it's no less than perfect to me! Only if more people visited this place. Hope...

Read moreVisiting Goa and not having a meal at Fisherman's wharf will make your trip incomplete. Fisherman's wharf is famous for its fresh seafood delicacies. This restaurant has three branches which are spread across different parts of Goa. I have visited this restaurant two times, and I loved it. It is costlier, but you will enjoy the food as much.
Here is a detailed review of the dishes I have tried:
Butter garlic prawns (Rating: 5/5) - This is must try dish here. I loved it the first time I ordered it. So I ordered it again when I visited this restaurant after a year. Prawns are cooked thoroughly through the butter garlic sauce, which is delicious.
Chicken Cafreal (Rating: 5/5) - If you are in Goa, you will hear Cafreal a lot. This dish is perfect for chicken lovers who would prefer chicken over seafood. This is served with three sides: mint chutney, mayo and some masala chutney.
Chilli Fry Prawns (Rating: 4/5) - This dish is for you if you crave spicy prawns. This has a good balance of spice and masala in it. This dish is not so spicy but for those who love their prawns cooked in masala and spices.
Fish Curry and Rice (Rating: 4/5) - This is a fish curry cooked in Goan style, which contains coconut. This brings out the Goan flavour, and the fish pieces in it are cooked well. This is served along with rice.
Devil's Chocolate cake (Rating: 5/5) - Best dessert to end our meal. This cake is so soft and intense with chocolate that you will end up in heaven when you have a bite. It would be best if you tried dessert when you visit this place.
Fisherman's Wharf Traditional Apple Pie (Rating: 3/5) - This apple pie is served along with vanilla ice cream. If you try the pie alone, it is good, but the ice cream enhances the flavour of the pie.
Apart from these, I have tried Malai chicken, and Malai broccoli, cheesecake which are...
