Mornings on sundays can't getting any better for a food love if you get an amazing breakfast. The day started with a lot a rain and flooded roads but it didnt stop me and my pals from adventuring into cross point mall and try the breakfast at Di ghent. Though visiting a popular place has its disadvantages- there is waiting, but fortunately Di ghent has to outlets in the same and we finally managed to find a place in one. We planned to have a massive breakfast starting from 3 types of eggs, waffles, cakes and of course tea. At one point we even thought of ordering bagel, but we left that for some other day. First came our mint tea and lemon tea along with Blue berry cheese cake and carrot cake. The tea was nicely presented and had a nice aroma to it. Along with the regular tea bags, these guys put fresh mint leaves and lemon slices. The cakes on the side was equally good. The cake was very fresh and wasn't excessively sweet. Just, as i like it. The portions of the cake were also quite generous. Moving on to our eggs- we ordered for pieters, dampoort and beke. The presentation of Pieters and Dampoort was amazing. They were typical egg benedicts, but the flavor of spinach on Pieters and crunchy ham on dampoort along with a splash of jam on the side was just wohhoo! If i were pick among the two- i would go for Pieters coz it liked the fresh flavor of the spinach which went well with the warm egg. Beke on the other hand was an omelette loaded with bacon, pork, ham, chicken and cheese, with jam on the side. Truly a meat lovers paradise. Then came the much awaited waffle. Oh my ! By the looks of it, the waffle was soo tempting. It was a 4 stake waffle with generous layering of blueberry jam between the waffles, with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on the side. It was warm and crunchy and had a deep flavor of blueberry.
Final Word- One of the best places to go for breakfast on any given morning. Do try their beer poached eggs and omelette with any tea or coffee. And if you have the stomach then dont miss out on...

Dighent is a place I have been meaning to try for a few years now. I have heard nothing but praise, and read nothing but good reviews about this establishment. Understandably then, my expectations were at the maximum while placing the order. The chefs of DiGhent thus had an onerous task of matching an already sky-high expectation and satisfying the tastebuds of a customer whose stomach was not quite empty to begin with. Under normal circumstances, I would have said that factors such as these might have skewed my food review so much so that it would have been impossible for the chefs at DiGhent to secure even an acceptable rating. Being acutely aware of this, the review that follows is of a more lenient nature than my others.
Despite this, everything ordered was ranging between ordinary and average, making it more of an up-hilled task for me as a writer of this review to produce a meaningful piece, than for the chefs of DiGhent to titalate my tastebuds.
The dishes ordered were Schone (Savoury Waffle, with a side of bacon, eggs and potatoes), Moerbeke (Savoury Crepe, with a filling of spinach and ricotta, and a side of rocket and corn) and DePint (A salmon spaghetti) that was missing capers it was meant to be served with. The meal was closed with a Strawberry Cheesecake that used canned strawberry compote rather than the fresh deal.
I would not say the meal was bad, but neither was is extraordinary. The service, the relaxing ambience and the owner’s presence made for a pleasant dining experience. DiGhent could have been a notch above the rest, had the food exceeded that of its competitors. Given that it didn’t, shelling out close to 3K for the meal didn’t quite make it a value-for-money experience. It is a place that is worth one try, but I am not sure I will recommend this restaurant for it’s...
Read moreI've been going to Di Ghent since 2014, much less frequently in the past few years though - as their food quality has been completely deteriorating year after year. Today was the worst food experience I've had at ANY restaurant in a while. My friend and I got the salmon croissant, blueberry french toast, a fig/banana shake and coffee for breakfast. It was the most stale food you could find dining out. I sent the shake back to be blended more as it tasted just like fig pulp and water, which wasn't made much better and I had to discard it completely. The croissant with salmon was extremely stale and looked like an airport grab-and-go item. The salmon smelled very fishy and was warm. It came with no side salad, just a tiny stale croissant served in a big plate. My friend's french toast was made with the wrong bread, also stale and the blueberries looked inedible. The food made us feel queasy after. Table next to us was also seen returning their food. Everyone else in the restaurant was only there for coffee - good on them. Additionally, staff was so slow to refill water and restaurant was set to an unusually cold temperature even though it was raining out. Go to Pero in Udyog Vihar instead, or even Espresso Anyday arounf the block from Di Ghent for food that is actually worth your money. Never stepping foot into Di...
