Summers are a pain in the butt in Gurgaon, and global warming (yes, it exists — unlike make-believe things such as the Yeti, Bigfoot, or the G-spot, which I’ve pretended doesn’t exist just to avoid confronting my own incompetence) doesn’t make it any easier to go out. So, if I’m going to step out and feel my face melt, it better be worth it.

Getafix Café is worth it. I stumbled upon this gem years ago. It’s like the spectacled, freckled supporting actor in a movie who gets ignored until the lead ages and realises that what really matters lies beyond frills and fleeting thrills. Getafix shines by offering actual good food and consistent service. They survived the rough COVID stretch and have managed to offer something rare in Gurgaon’s ever-changing landscape: stability.

Gurgaon has morphed into a money-mooching circus where even basic courtesy feels like a luxury. Just like women fighting for equal rights (yes, feminism is real — and I believe in it, unlike the G-spot), getting decent service in a restaurant feels oddly refreshing.

Here’s something that sounds small but matters — they bring you water. Every. Single. Time. That’s been tested on at least five separate visits. Unlike other places where I have to stare down the staff until someone notices me dying of thirst and decides I’ve earned a sip, Getafix just gets it. That alone puts them in the top 20% of cafés in Gurgaon.

The drinks are okay. The coffee needs work — I usually order their Skinny Cold Coffee, but the coffee-to-milk ratio is a mystery every time. And as a coffee connoisseur (connoisseur ki spelling theek hai na?), I can tell.

But the food — oh, the food — is lipsmackingly good. I’m not kidding. I kissed the chef. That’s how literal I got with “lipsmacking”! We’ve tried the Chef’s Special Salad, the Japanese Soba Noodles, and the Chicken Cordon Bleu — all were scrumptious. Because this review is anonymous, and anonymity makes me bolder than usual, I’ll confess: at one point, some of the peanut sauce fell on my shirt, and yes… I slurped it. It was that good.

Every dish feels like it has intent behind it. They don’t just write fancy descriptions and toss ingredients around in chaos. Their Chicken Cordon Bleu — pictured in the attachments — was the best breast I’ve ever had. And you know I’m a playa. So that’s saying something. (If we’re counting my own two, it’s rank 1 among 3)

The chicken is stuffed with mozzarella that stretches more than Baba Ramdev (whom I hate, but that rant’s for another review). It’s also packed with veggies, and the Florentine sauce with grilled vegetables brings both crunch and juice. Definitely worth ordering.

All in all, this is my go-to for a no-nonsense, good-value meal. The prices are weird though — like they let a random number generator set them. I’ve never seen so many oddly specific numbers at a single café.

Try them out. Just like me, they...

For a medium sized cafe, Getafix is craftily done, to accommodate the maximum amount of pax while remaining spacious. The decor give it a very friendly and lit vibe, accentuated further by bright lights and neat yet cute wooden furniture. Overall, the feel and look of the place is very warm and friendly

We began with the Nyan Cat, a thick smoothie comprising pine apple, strawberry, blueberries, Mango and froyo - it was nice but a bit heavy; the glass was huge AND Buttermilk with a Twist which comprised of yogurt, jalapenos, jeera Coriander & honey which tasted more like a Lassi than Buttermilk since it was too thick to be called as a Buttermilk but was tasty anyway!

In main course the Chefs special Meal Bowl which comprised of grilled cottage cheese, savoury stock sauce served with rice and grilled veggies which was tasty beyond belief. It was crafted properly, tasted yummy and left a delicious after taste once we polished it off! Along with that we also tasted Cilantro Chicken which was Grilled and sliced chicken breast with cauli flower mash with grilled veggies on the side which was also superlative, The Cauliflower mash tasted out of the world to be frank !

We rounded off our tasty soiree with yummiest Apple Pie sweetened with dates and topped with nice cinnamon crumble. We also had Diet Vanilla Pound Cake which was made with ricotta topped with delicious Orange and Honey syrup and almonds which was heavenly! To sum up, Getafix is a Health food concept restaurant which serves you Continental and Italian fare along with some Indian helathfood options too in their all day breakfast section. Their friendly staff lead by Mr. Kapil keep an eye on quality and food curation which is very nice.

They have a extensive menu which has juices and smoothies, many healthy options in All day breakfast section (here they have an option called EGGS KEJRIWAL also LOL) some good Salads, there are few Mediterranean options in starters, Sandwiches & wraps, Burgers, Pizza, Pasta, Bowl Meals and the works along with some yummy desserts. The pricing is little steep, but quality should get its worth may be. Do drop in here to grab a bite & spend productive hours while indulging in your tete...

It's a lovely place to hang out with friends/family over good food. For Thursday lunch I paid a visit to DLF Phase 4 outlet of GETAFIX to try some healthy food. The outlet is pretty small but it's decorated beautifully and minimistically. The ambience is calm with beautiful and charming paintings on the wall, wooden furniture, huge windows, pretty lamps and they also have one corner with a shelf full of books. One could definitely visit the place to read books and chill with good food.

For lunch, I ordered:

● BERRANANA FIX Simply loved the smoothie. I was made up with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and bananas. Who wouldn't love it? It was thick and perfectly and naturally sweetened.

● GRILLED VEGGIE BURGER The whole wheat bun was extremely soft and fresh. It had fresh crunchy grilled veggies like Bell peppers, tomatoes which were sauted in their house special Pesto sauce. They also used a slice of cheese and lettuce in it. As a whole, the burger was amazing. Complimentary potato wedges were served with the burger.

● CLASSIC VEG PIZZA and MEXICAN PIZZA So they do give half and half pizza option to their customers. I ordered half and half Classic veg and Mexican pizza. The classic veg pizza had grilled veggies as toppings whereas mexican pizza had corn and beans as it's topping. The pizza base was that of while wheat. Good in taste.

● SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE BOWL I ordered the smoothie bowl with mango. They use mango pulp which was topped with assorted fruits like finely cut apples and bananas, toasted nuts and chia seeds. If you are looking forward to try a good smoothie bowl, you should must try this one!

● DESSERT PLATTER I ordered the Dessert platter as o wanted to taste almost all the desserts! So they do give an option to customise it. You could choose 5 desserts from the menu that you wish wish to have on your platter. I choose Carrot cake- Amazingly moist and delicious, Date Cake- My personal favoutite, Apple Pie- Utterly crispy pie with caramelised apples, Choco Brownie- Very soft and gooey and Diet Vanilla pound cake- fresh and topped with honey orange syrup.

GETAFIX is one nice place! Surely visiting it again to taste other...
