My recent visit to DanBi proved to be a letdown on multiple fronts. The service was notably poor, with the waitresses displaying rudeness and a lack of training, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. The main dish, bulgogi, not only failed to meet basic expectations but looked nothing like the appetizing pictures on the menu, leading me to suspect a mix-up with another dish.
Despite our efforts to clarify the situation, the staff's dismissive attitude only added to the frustration. The bulgogi itself was a disappointment – dry, lacking the promised marination and vegetables. When I brought the issue to the manager's attention, expecting a resolution, I had to emphasize that I knew what bulgogi is because I've tried it before; it's supposed to be a marinated meat dish.
The manager's response was disheartening. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she casually claimed that their dishes never look like the menu pictures. This raises serious concerns about transparency and customer expectations. This experience, given my positive encounters with Korean cuisine globally, was particularly disconcerting. The combination of poor service, unappetizing presentation, and a dismissive managerial attitude made this visit one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've encountered worldwide. It's disheartening when a restaurant falls short not only in the quality of its food but also in maintaining the integrity of...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this restaurant last night. Things started going wrong from the moment I called to make a reservation. Firstly, the hostess struggled to get my name right, even after five attempts. Secondly, she failed to provide any information about how to reach the restaurant, which was challenging because the only entrance is located inside the Ibis hotel and not clearly indicated.
Thirdly, the service was subpar. The servers seemed disinterested in attending to us or explaining anything about the food we wanted to order. Surprisingly, for a table of four, we were only given four complimentary Korean side dishes in total, whereas at other Korean places in Gurgaon, we would have received four side dishes per person. While the food was good, it was not exceptionally better than what is offered at other Korean restaurants in the area.
Moreover, the kitchen closed its grill section by 9 PM on a Saturday night, which seemed quite early. Additionally, the service couldn't even provide us with wet tissues. Overall, I was quite unsatisfied with my experience at...
