Black Tent Café — Restaurant in Himachal Pradesh

This is a hidden gem which is not easily visible from the road. This is on the 1st floor led by narrow stairs, in the same building as bhim sen punjabi dhaba. The seating is low with small chairs. There's also the baithak kind of seating which we opted for. The glass table has under it, currency notes of various countries, of messages written on tissues, paper etc. All of which is written by the tourists who have been here. The food is amazing. For appetizer, I had the tasty mushroom soup. The momos were unlike anything we have had before. The stuffing had quite different flavour which we really liked. Visited this cafe almost 4 years ago and loved it so much back then that just couldn't help revisit it again this time. I had my first brush with Tibetan cuisine at this cafe and was literally dying to satiate my taste buds with their food again. This time too it tasted just as divine. The best part about thukpa and thenthuk is that every cafe makes the soup differently, trying out these two dishes is always a pleasant surprise. I love Tibetan food and have tried a few cuisines in Delhi, Bangalore and in Mcleodganj too. But out of all the places I've ever eaten in, Black Tent is definitely a place to be, and to taste the best home cooked tibetan food. If you have had tibetan cuisines earlier, you will immediately make out the difference. The ingredients were freshly cut and cooked.
