One fine Sunday, I went out with one of my friend to have lunch outside and we booked tables for 2 on Zomato @Swagat de Royal. Due to astonishing crowd and pathetic mismanagement, we were not able to get any seats. So, we went for our second choice...the Dhaba Estd 1986 Dwlhi. A place you will get plenty of space to park your vehicle as well 2-3 nearby food joints also.
So, without any expectation, we entered into the Dhaba and Oh my my... the place looks so vibrant yet so dhaba like feelings..one should visit the place to get the vibe.
After some minutes of discussion, I and my friend went for buffet (both veg and nonveg). They were serving 8 types of starters in each category with 3 main course in each category including different types of Indian bread, 4 types of sweet, soup, papad, curd, curd rice, Dahi bhalley and blah blah blah..oh.. I forgot the complimentary drinks (we choose Banta..yes..the one we mostly had in out childhood).
The atmosphere is not like a typical dhaba where you will find khatia and big glasses of lassi. But, the walls are never lesser than any dhaba. With the posters of old and new Bollywood movies with paints of pran, amitabh, Kishore da and many more legendary Bollywood actors will take you to the nostalgic time of dhaba. The color..the lighting, the dress code of attendants - you will feel like a Maharaja having food at a dhaba..
Coming to the hospitality...it was good (surprisingly good as there was crowd). There will be one attendant to each table and they will politely explain you and try to understand what you actually want to have. We went for buffet.
The buffet costs us 899/- mad 849/- for nonveg and veg respectively (including taxes and service charges... Yup ).. We had some awesome food. Some dishes were tasted like authentic Punjabi make (as we both stayed 4-5 years in delhi-gurgaon..so we can infer between the taste). It was a good experience with food and ambience. We really liked it.
Nonveg- 4 types of chicken. 1 mutton. 1 fish. 1 prawn and 1 veg. With chicken biriyani, chicken kolhapuri and handi chicken in main course.
Veg- Mushroom, paneer, fried baby corn, soya chap, dum aloo, Dahi bhalley, govi chillies, veg munchurian, chillies potato, harabhara kabab with main course paneer , mushroom, daal, koftey
Dessert - firni, rice kheer, gulab jamun, icecream, sandesh,
Banta.
Food -4/5, Ambience- 4/5, Hospitality- 4/5.
Check the pictures below... Definitly a must go place if you like Punjabi foods. They have alcoholes as well...
Read moreVisited this place last night with a friend and had a great experience. It has a colorful and lively ambience of rich Punjabi dhaba which includes both bar and restaurant. The interiors are awesome and they are playing lovely Punjabi music inside. This restaurant is in the ground floor Western Pearl building which is just beside the google office.
Food: We have ordered Highway Chicken Tikka for starter. It was juicy and cooked soo well that it almost melted in the mouth. And for beverages there is a 2+2 offer during happy hours and that too available only in kondapur. We ordered Shikanji (2), Jal Jeera and Rangeela. Of the 3 that we ordered Shikanji was the best and so we had it twice. Coming to main course we ordered Chicken Biryani - Badi Handi. It comes with the biryani which is cooked inside the mud pot. The rice and the chicken was cooked very well and it also adds up a very good flavor as it is cooked inside the mud pot.
Service: The service here is very good and the staff here are soo welcoming. They are available at your service within no time in just a single call. They are also taking the feedback about the taste of the dishes that they have served in a timely manner. The two people who have served us for the night are Rakesh and Rangadhar. Both of them are extremely polite and patient. Without even asking they have offered to click some pictures of us.
Cost: The costs here are bit on the higher end. But you feel the value for your money after experiencing the taste and quality of the food. And also as the ambience looks very affluent, you will be definitely convinced and satisfied about the prices. Since we went for an À la carte, I'm really not sure about the range of items and the taste of food served at buffet in this restaurant.
Overall I rate this restaurant as one of the best place for food in Hyderabad. And if you prefer a restaurant with combination of good food and great ambience undoubtedly this is the finest place. Visit here and have a great dining...
Read moreI ordered two items daal makhani and dhabe da khaas paneer. The daal makhani was below average and it didn't tasted like daal makhani rather than a sticky daal with lots of garlic. Dhabe da khaas paneer was loaded with lots and lots of oil and its gravy tasted so bad. I had written a special note not to add much oil but they don't care. I don't know why they call it dhabe da khaas paneer when there is no paneer in it. Literally the taste of dhabe da khaas paneer with gravy was so bad. I used to order from this restaurant previously but this time I was so frustrated and utterly disappointed with what they have send with such a pathetic and unhealthy food. I highly doubt if they had delivered it from their kitchen because the daal makhani didn't tasted like it used to earlier. Also the box of dhabe da khaas paneer had no branding. But anyways my money is wasted and I will never ever order from this restaurant again. If you guys have some courtesy so refund my money. Atleast that would give me some relief.
