Used to go this place regularly, once in every 2 months. This time we went on a festival day, Holi. At around 1:45 PM we reached the place and ordered 2 Special Thalis and 2 South Indian Thalis.
North Indian offered Tandoori Roti/Naan and South Indian offered Puri. Puri was fresh and nice but Tandoori roti was Iike nothing less than a rubber. Had to chew to a good extent to get it swallowed down under.
We had to ask for Soup only then steward and the manager brought us soups which were part of the North/Special thali. It tasted fine, would rate 3/5.
North Indian Thali offered curries of Panner, Vegetable, Cabbage and Daal. When asked for Vegetable curry again steward brought Vegetable Kurma where we normally get it with puri/ rava dosa. Panner curry was really nice and paneer was so tender to cherish. Rest all of the curries I would just rate 2 out of 5.
South Indian Thali was offered with same curries except Panner curry. Rice was not hot either. Would rate 3 out of 5 for the curries.
North Indian thali was offered with Biryani. This tasted OK ok. As there was only little left over in the Biryani bowl when it was served. So as usual its not hot. Would rate it 2 out of 5.
Asked for papads and fryumps steward just brought 6 to 8 fryumps and 1 papad and dumped in a bowl. I'd just 1 out of 5 for it.
At last came the ice cream with fruits. There's nothing special about it. Would go for 3 out of 5.
Last but not the least, probably steward is not aware how to swipe the swiping machine. He made me swipe twice and only upon checking back there were 2 SMS's received from bank. I approached manager he then reviewed and gave me the extra amount in Cash.
Overall I'd say, don't keep any expectations before you get in and until you are done at the restaurant. Tastes is fine. It's a good vegetarian restaurant but getting downgraded year by year. If know a good mess then yes it is more or less the same. Taste: 3/5 Ambience: 3/5 Worth of cost: little high. Steward and...
Read moreHere is another vegetarian restaurant named after the Iconic structure. It's nestled in the basement of the building that it's easy to miss it when you pass by. Inside it is spacious and a bit jaded. It can accommodate quite a few guests and the service is prompt. You'll be satisfied with the cleanliness inside. The menu has a large spread but if you order two or more Indian main dishes you'll regret your decision because most likely they taste similar. There is a surfeit of panneer (Cottage cheese) in dishes. However, starters are fantastic. I think their Thali is a real value proposition at Rs 200. This is merely an observation of mine looking at people relishing Thali. I didn't order one though. An acquaintance of mine dining mentioned that an order she placed for Thali through Swiggy a couple of days earlier had many items missing when compared to what you get served in the restaurant. One noteworthy point is that you get served on a real Corelle plate, not some cheap melamin. Will I go back? Most...
