We recently went to Maryada Rammana in Kondapur for a team lunch, and it turned out to be a pretty memorable experience. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the building, and while the entrance is simple, once you're in, it feels spacious and welcoming. The ambiance is clean and comfortable — nothing too flashy, but definitely pleasant enough for both casual meals and team gatherings.
The menu here is a real treat for lovers of Andhra and Rayalaseema cuisine. They offer a wide variety of dishes, and we tried to sample as much as we could during our lunch.
We started with a round of soups — Munagakaya (drumstick) chicken soup, Mutton Shorba, and Tomato Soup. Each of them had a unique flavor profile: the mutton shorba was rich and warming, the chicken soup had that homemade, spicy touch, and even the tomato soup, often overlooked, was surprisingly well-prepared and tasty.
For starters, we went all in with Mokkajonna Gaarelu, Karvepaku (curry leaf) Chicken Fry, and Chicken Drumsticks. All three were solid hits, but the standout for me was the karvepaku chicken — crispy, full of bold South Indian spice, and absolutely addictive. It had that perfect blend of heat and flavor that lingers just enough to make you reach for more.
For the main course, we ordered Garlic Naan paired with both Chicken Curry and Mutton Curry. The naan was soft, garlicky, and served hot. While both curries were good, the mutton curry definitely stole the show — the meat was tender and cooked to perfection, soaking up all the spices beautifully without being overpowering.
To wrap it up, we had their special biryanis — both chicken and mutton. The Maryada Rammana Special Chicken Biryani took about 15 minutes to serve, and you could tell it was slow-cooked — the rice was aromatic, the chicken well-marinated, and the presentation itself felt premium. The mutton biryani was also flavorful and hearty, perfect for meat lovers.
Overall, the place impressed us with its authentic flavors and variety. If you're someone who enjoys spicy Andhra or Rayalaseema-style food, this place is worth a visit. It’s especially great for group lunches or casual family dinners — just make sure to go in with...

Waiting area: After entering you will find a small waiting area with 4 seats in which 3 are arranged to form letter 'C' and with a brass utensil beside one of the seats and a brass telescope. 4th seat is placed perpendicular to the main entrance, to the wall and on either sides of 4th seat rolu and rokali(Telugu words) are placed.
Dining area: Split into two sections, It consists of 2,4 and big family seater tables. For 4 seater tables, one side of the seating is facilitated by a sofa placed to the wall and chairs on the other side. 2 seaters are facilitated only by chairs. both are usually seen in any restaurant.
Kitchen, Utensil wash area and Hand wash area and Rest rooms are in the centre of the restaurant adjoined by big family seater tables.
Dishes I ate: Veg Manchow Soup - Ok..not too spicy.
Mokkajonna Garelu - served with sprinkled masala powder. May cause glottals while eating because of the spicy masala powder.
Rama Rao Gari Kodi Pulao - Served in plate with pulao rice(cooked in coconut milk and contain green chilli) topped with a cut boiled egg and 5 to 6 Chicken fry pieces sauted in grinded greenchilli paste and garlic(Like our usual household dish Vellipaya pachimirchi karam with boiled eggs). Added a picture of the dish.
Almost all of the desserts are specified to be served with icecream. May not get Individual dessert savouries like Gulab Jamun and Double Ka Meetha. Konaseema delight is recommended to me by the waiter, unfortunately I cant go for this as I am tummy full 😀.
Water is served in medium sized bottles and regular water may not be available (Subject to correction).
Valet parking is available, but no abundant parking.
Overall: Good and Recommended for spice lovers.
Thanks for reading patiently😀 and any suggestions/corrections...
Read moreI recently visited Maryada Ramana Multi-Cuisine Restaurant and had a mixed experience. Here's my detailed take: ⭐ 2.5/5
Ambiance: The atmosphere was quite decent, with old songs playing in the background, adding a nostalgic touch.
Food:
We started with Chicken Manchow Soup, but it was disappointing—lacking salt and flavor.
To recover, we tried the Veg Guntur Chilli Chicken (the day’s special). Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the price or the hype.
The Matka Chicken Tikka, however, was a winner—absolutely delicious!
On the flip side, the Crispy Corn was the worst dish of the day. It seemed pre-cooked, re-fried, and overly oily. Even a beginner in cooking could prepare a better version.
For the main course, we chose Afghani Chicken, which was mildly sweet and served with an omelet on top. It was decent and helped balance the previous disappointment.
Breads & Beverages: The Butter Naan, Pulka, and Garlic Naan were good as expected. Beverages like lime soda and cool drinks felt slightly overpriced but acceptable compared to other places.
Desserts:
The Honey Delight Ice Cream was a comforting end to the meal—simple vanilla with honey and cashews, yet delightful.
The Sitaphal Rabdi was also enjoyable, not overly sweet and well-prepared.
Conclusion: The menu is extensive, which is great, but they need to focus on maintaining consistent taste across dishes. It’s surprising how the restaurant has received so many 4- and 5-star reviews—perhaps for their biryanis or other popular items.
Recommendation: If you visit, I’d suggest sticking to their pulaos or biryanis, as those seem to be their specialty.
Kudos to Dev for excellent food service, but the kitchen needs to step up in delivering quality...
