We were in Jaipur for 4 nights at a nearby hotel, (not the hotel that the restaurant is in, which has a colonial feel and we would probably want to try out if we came back) saw the restaurant’s good reviews and tried it the first night. We looked at other nearby options and none had the combination of all-vegetarian menu, nice dining room, good quality food, and attentive service, so we ended up choosing to eat there every night.
The service was fast, the chef accommodated custom requests and seemed to have a good mastery of vegetarian foods from many parts of India.
The waiter is not quite as polished as some, but he was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, including the ingredients, and he was very accurate in his ordering with not one error in 4 meals for a large party.
I did note in some reviews some complaints of slower service. We were there during slower times and received super attentive service. I suspect that if the restaurant is full with the same staff, it may take a little longer to make everyone’s food, so keep that in mind when you arrive. If it is crowded and you have the time, you will be rewarded with excellent food at a good price in a pleasant location. We ate in the air conditioned dining room, which was clean and comfortable, as was the washroom. There is a pleasant looking outdoor dining area, but with the air pollution of Jaipur, we all opted to eat inside each day.
I actually did a bit of research to see what other all-vegetarian restaurants with a nice dining room were in the area, and the next best options are...
Read moreI found Ratnika through some hunting on Google Maps, after our trip to Nahargarh Fort was a fail, due to the road being closed for renovation that day. Without any waiting, we reached this place for our lunch!
The first thing that caught my eye was the ambience. It had this beautiful mix of traditional Rajasthani aesthetics like warm tones, elegant décor and a cozy vibe. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. After a long, frustrating afternoon, this place already felt like a good decision 😆
Now, let’s talk about the real deal, the Food. We went for their Rajasthani Thali and oh man, it was a feast! Generous portions, rich flavours, and enough for two people to share comfortably.
We also ordered Paneer Lababdar with extra rotis, because why not? The paneer was perfectly cooked, the gravy was rich and flavorful, and everything just hit the spot.
Service-wise, no complaints. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring we had everything we needed without hovering too much.
Would I come back? Absolutely. If you’re ever in Jaipur and craving a solid vegetarian meal, Ratnika is a spot worth checking out. That Rajasthani Thali alone is a must-try, especially if you want an authentic, flavorful experience. Safe to say, this place turned our failed fort trip into a...
