Consistently Poor Customer Care — A Pattern of Neglect

When I came to write my review on your Google page, I found several poor ratings—and nearly all of them highlight issues with customer care and attitude toward guests. This indicates a consistent problem, not just a one-off mishap.

I’m writing this review after giving Husto Resto Cafe (Palarivattom branch) three months to resolve an issue clearly caused by your staff’s negligence—yet you’ve shown no accountability, almost no communication, and no follow-through.

On April 15th, during a private “bride‑to‑be” celebration for my sister, one of your staff members carelessly moved a table without noticing a DSLR camera placed on it. The camera and lens fell and were severely damaged. The manager on duty acknowledged the mistake and assured me the restaurant would take responsibility. Relying on that commitment, I had the camera repaired and I paid from my pocket.

After waiting a month, I contacted the manager for reimbursement. Instead of honoring the promise, I was told to speak directly with the staff member involved. That individual agreed to pay half—but then resigned and became completely unreachable. Shockingly, the owner also declined responsibility, instructing me to chase the ex-employee myself.

Despite calling the manager and former staff member several times, I’ve received neither the agreed amount nor any meaningful reply. There has been no apology, no customer support, and no resolution.

It’s both unfair and unacceptable that I’m forced to chase multiple people for reimbursement due to a mistake made by your team. Your restaurant should take ownership—not deflect blame onto someone no longer employed. This neglect reflects poorly on your brand, particularly when others have reported similar failures in customer service and communication

This is the good girl gone bad equivalent of the restaurant world. There was a time when they served one of the best food across Kochi. The sandwiches here were unique and really delicious. But off late, the quality has gone down drastically. the grilled chicken was overcooked to a point where the knife gave up and I had to send the food back, which I never do. The sandwich which came in as a replacement for the grilled chicken was extremely salty. I thought it was one odd experience and visited the restaurant today and had a horrible experience. It is beyond shameful if a cafe which serves over 15 varieties pizza to use the store bought pizza base. The pizza was chewy and tasted like plain flour. The staff at Hustoh were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations. The café itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere—clean, cozy, and well-organized, making it a great place to relax or catch up with friends. To start with, those deserts we tried was just out of the world... I would love to revisit the place just to have them again and this comes from someone who is not even a sweet tooth... Other than that, sandwiches were okay, nothing extraordinary... Creamy chicken soup and crispy chicken salad was good... Pasta didn't attract my taste buds much... Cold coffee was really good... Service was on point... Ambience was okay but I won't suggest this place for bigger groups though... Finding a parking space can give you a little headache during busy hours but can't complain as its location has this issue generally... If you visit, do try their desserts... Chocolate Marquese and Red velvet Mousse were the ones I tried...
