basant bhojnalay on hare street, kolkata-1 near bankshall court (dalhousie sqare area near GPO) is a popular destination for homely food(meal). office goers- both govt n corporate including court attendees attend Basant Bhojnalay on regular basis. i often used to take taste of its meal when i was at Fairlie Place, the eastern rly hd quarters, next to RBI during 1984 to 2016. now, whenever i have been in kolkata, i do not miss the opportunity to test that taste which i can easily recall by imagination at times. the shop is now run by the third generation of a sober man from nawada in bihar who is now no more. constraints due to the one room hotel with a small attached kitchen sometimes gladly beared by customers waiting in que for a considerable time; but, they never return without taking meal- so tasty is the meal at Basant Bhojnalaya. it serves food both veg n non veg only at day time. pl have a test for taste whenever you are in kolkata. i assure- you would repeat...
