After shopping for so long at Gariahat, we were very hungry and we were not able to find any good places to eat. Then my friend who was with me got to know about this place from his mom. And then we were able to locate it through the maps. Initially we were disappointed to see the Roll center to be closed then we heard from a local guy that the restaurant is further inside and we were able to reach there through the help of signs as well as after asking some people around. The inside of the restaurant was really simple. The waiter was also nice as he was suggesting dishes to us to try. Finally we decided to order Veg Chowmin ( full plate) and Hong Kong Chicken ( full plate; which has six pieces of chicken). The price of the dishes weren't very much and the quantity they served us was pretty enough to feed our two mouths. The chowmin was really good in taste and the vegetables that were put in it made it further good. While the taste of the Chicken was also nice, the coating in the chicken wasn't too thick which I found very appealing. The gravy has a spicy flavour in it as compared to Chili chicken. We were really happy with the food that was served. Moreover the air conditioning in there helped me to cool down as the heat from outside really got me. Therefore, this was my first time visiting there and I was really...
Read moreThis feedback is to bring awareness to the customers actually. Their roll is good. But the feedback is on their pricing. Last night I went there. And there were couple of young ladies (college students most likely) and they raised a question which was an eye opener for all of us actually. What they asked is if a chicken roll is Rs. 60, how come an egg chicken roll be Rs. 100? Are you guys charging Rs. 40 for just an egg? It made me seriously think about something that I have never thought of before. Actually what the shop owners are doing is they are simply summing up an egg roll (Rs. 40) and a chicken roll (Rs. 60) when you are buying an egg chicken roll That is not correct because when you are buying an Egg chicken roll you are buying only one Parota and of course half onions etc. that goes inside the roll. I know probably nothing will change but I wanted to document this here to raise awareness on how we as customers should be careful about our hard earned money and how business people are making us fool. Thank you smart ladies! We all should learn from you. The roll shop owner should revise...
Read moreHad heard a lot about Bedouin, so while in the Gariahat area I decided to try it out for dinner with my family.
Let’s start with the pros (since there are very few) – the ambience was cozy and decent.
We ordered: • Fish Fry • Chilli Paneer (Dry) • Rice with Chicken Combo • Rice with Fish Combo • Noodles with Fish Combo • Rice with Paneer Combo
The food, unfortunately, was extremely disappointing. The fry was below average, and the chilli paneer was just about okay. All three combos were outright horrible – the chicken and fish pieces were hard as rock, as if served directly from the fridge. The rice had no taste, and even the egg and chicken chunks were stiff and unappetizing.
To make matters worse, the service was unprofessional. We weren’t even provided glasses for water, and the plates were not clean.
Overall, the dining experience was very poor. I honestly would not recommend their dine-in at all. I feel the high reviews are mostly because of their roll counter out front – but for a proper sit-down meal, Bedouin is far...
