Extremely Disappointing Experience

We had a terrible experience at Kookie Jar. My sister and I were drenched in the rain and stepped in hoping for a warm and welcoming place. When we politely asked for tissues, the staff rudely told us they don’t provide any unless we order something first—which was shocking and insensitive given our condition.

We went ahead and ordered coffee and dessert. While the dessert was decent, the coffee was extremely underwhelming—tasted like a ₹10 Nescafe sachet, but we were charged ₹250 for it. When we asked for a menu, we were told there isn’t one, and they only provide verbal options. On top of that, we were rudely told we should have asked for prices before ordering. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful.

To top it all off, they didn’t provide a bill until we specifically asked for it.

Overall, a horrible experience with very poor staff behavior. We do not recommend this place to anyone looking for good service or transparency. Definitely not...

Recently, I have ordered some Christmas special items from Kookie Jar (Hindusthan Park outlet) via Zomato. I ordered 2 Christmas pastries, 1 mince pie, and 1 iced cookie. The most which I loved was the pastry. It was cute and tasted awesome. Fondent which they had used was freash and very less food color was used. The mince pie was decorated nicely and decently, full of fruits, but I personally didn't like this item that much (though my mum liked that). And the iced cookie was too much cute. It was a face of Santa. Taste was good to me. I had ordered 2 pastries to get 2 different toppers, but as that was not available, they provided me with the same (Snowman). One of the better baked goods store in Kolkata, this place does some pretty good cakes and savouries. The store itself has a pretty neat display of items spread across the breadth of the space. Their cakes are especially good as long as you get a fresh one. Have had instances of having bought day old baked stuff which turned out to be incredibly dry. With the prices charges, that is completely unacceptable. In store service is a joke unfortunately, and doesn't match with the quality of the goods served. Would recommend the store to ensure proper quality checks and not stock old cakes. Of course the place is pricey, which I would pay for fresh and good quality cakes, sandwiches, etc but not for stale...
