IT wouldn’t be too far off the mark to say that The Roastery Coffee House, has brought in a spot of cheer to the lives of coffee drinkers. And when you meet one of the founders of The Roastery Coffee House, Nishant Sinha you understand why. “Coffee is his first love," - that's what I understood while I was in a conversation with Nishant. From him only I came to know that once he and his wife travelled to Puducherry and Chikmagalur to understand the art of getting their artisan brews just right. Not just that, I heard him saying, “We source our coffee directly from the farms in Chikmagalur and then roast and serve it at the café.” The coffee enthusiast also swears by shade-grown Indian coffee which he says is much better than most beans grown abroad. For instance, Cold Brew, which is a favourite with regulars, is brewed for 14 hours, Pour Over for three minutes and Espresso for 30 seconds. Apart from the coffee, this place which was previously known as the South India Club of Kolkata, had captivated all my attention with their artsy decor – handcrafted coffee mugs, shelves stocked with good reads add to the charm. But that’s not all. I was missing a reading room. All this might make someone exclaim, ‘all I want is a cup of coffee’, but the people at The Roastery Coffee House will put you at ease, strike a conversation to know your preferences and let you enjoy an artisan coffee experience. And for each type of coffee you'll get a recommendation of the dish that goes with that particular coffee. Their signature style is the cold brew, where Arabica and some Peaberry are left to brew in cold water for 14 hours! This method takes away the acidity, leaving a light brew that can be had any time of the day. The cold brew has been in high demand ever since the Roastery opened here in Kolkata. Though Nishant will always recommend you to have their second largest selling coffee - Cascara, that is made out of the upper layer of red cherries and served in a champagne glass. Now tell me one thing : have you ever thought of sipping out the coffee from a champagne glass, that is actually made out of cherry? Now you're actually thinking why I'm not writing anything about the food that we had. They don't just serve the best coffee in the country, they serve good quality food also where you can choose from pasta, or pizza or grilled fish and chicken or some finger licking starters. Just keep in mind one thing that Roastery Coffee House is a place that serves food to be accompanied by the cup of coffee, not the coffee to be accompanied by the food. To be more specific, this is an ideal place for a coffee lovers. So, now stop reading and go and...

Has been in my wish list, for a very long time. The Vibe, atmosphere is amazing. But the food is amazing too. Ordered Brownie Blend and Cranberry Cold Brew for beverages. Brownie is good, but Cranberry Cold Brew here has to be something that I've never tasted before. Now coming to the food, Pesto Pasta and Mutton Bruschetta. Pesto pasta was nice, but Mutton Bruschetta is something again, which blew my mind. Overall I need to visit this cafe again, no wonder people speak so highly about it.

I'm delighted to have rediscovered this gem, having previously only indulged in their desserts. Today's visit left me newly impressed, first by the ambience and then by the exceptional food. The sleek white interiors exude immaculate elegance, while the furniture and lighting evoke a charming, quaint atmosphere.

The staff, particularly Ms. Shobha Acharya, were outstanding - obliging, helpful, and warm. Our treats included:

Cappuccino: perfectly balanced milk and caffeine, surpassing my usual expectations Multigrain BBQ Chicken Sandwich: satisfyingly filling and flavorful, accompanied by sprouts, crispy french fries, and a tangy sauce Fish & Chips: remarkably fresh and meaty, served with french fries, creamy mayonnaise, and a zesty yellow sauce

Overall, we had a wonderfully pleasant experience. I highly recommend this establishment for its exceptional ambience, delightful staff, and delectable cuisine.

Spent a great evening here, YET again. It was raining heavily in the mornning so were a bit skeptical about sitting outdoors, thankfully the clouds were merciful and chose to not launch at us today. As usual the food and beverages were of the best quality. I tried the honey spicy chicken wings for the first time, it was decadent..and also tried the Kiwi coffee for the very first time..it was okayish at first but the taste does grow on you...by the very end that was the only taste that lingered on in my mouth. The drink was a great suggestipn by à very sweet and helpful attendant DK. Loved his amiable presence, always by the sides to look into us if we needed just anything else. It was a great evening with indulgent chit chats and gawking at the beautiful old world charm quaint ambience of lush green palms and yellow walls with just the little tint of blue and warm lights...

A chilly night and a beautiful sight .. Nothing can get better than this cafe during winters.

Thumbs up - This being my second visit to this place and i feel amazing every time. I ordered for Pour over coffee ( black and strong coffee ) malabar , Garlic bread, Fish and chips and Cold coffee for my partner. Trust me i had one of the best fish and chips till now. No fishy smell , really flaky fish , melt in ur mouth and very crispy outer layer. You need not use knife to cut the fish, fork is just enough. And to elevate the taste of it you are served with Mustard and mayo with pickles ( kind of substitute to TAR TAR sauce ). Chips were good and salty goes well with ur fish. Garlic bread was again delicious but its overshadowed by the Fish. Talking about the coffee , u just cannot find a better coffee place than this one. I had a strong coffee which was too good the flavours were enough to keep me away from adding sugar to it. Just loved it. More than anything the ambiance of this place is just too good .. It gives u relaxed feeling plus it was chilly last evening so it elevated the experience altogether. If u come with ur friends then be rest assured that its going to be an amazing evening. A big appreciation to the stewards as well they have been very courteous and friendly. Truly in love with this place.

Thumbs down - In the process of giving u an experience of very green environment u do come across to mosquitos and flies which actually bothers u and feels exactly like cardamom in ur biryani. Other than this there is one more little thing which was not good was that i was initially served coffee which was just warm and not hot so i had to ask for a hot coffee. And one last thing was that the menu book was dirty and filthy. I guess previous customers spilled some food items on it and since then its been like that and not cleaned post that. This is one thing which i personally did not like. No other complaints.

Truly an amazing place and loved every second spent here. A must visit...
