Overall: bad experience. YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF FOR TAKING TIME READING THIS REVIEW: I had a very bad experience with this. Just yesterday I and my friends went to this place seeing the ratings on Google. First of all, the service was slow. But it's still ok. Food was okayish. But the worst was their drinks service. They literally fooled us. I am listing the things we faced in the following points. We asked for a shot of kamakaze which was given in the happy hours menu for 149/- , when we were having the shots even until then they told that we had kamakaze. They told us that this is kamakaze But actually gave us shots of jaggermeister which is 410/- (not present in the happy hours menu) which is more expensive. And they made the bill for jaggermeister and completely downright denied that they gave us the wrong drink and accused us that we said that we had ordered the jaggermeister. They literally took advantage of the fact that we didn't know how these drinks looked like and it was our first time having these shots and they thought we won't oppose much because all of us were girls.
They added 1 or 2 items extra even in our bill. Now when we saw that they added a non-happy hour drink added, and it was causing so much difference in our bill amount, we asked them to change the drinks prices to the original prices so that we can avail the swiggy walk in offer. The person who was dealing with us was "you should have said this in the beginning, how can we make this large bill again. This is not possible. You cannot change this now. I have to answer my seniors." But this is absolutely not done, we customers, at all times until payment, have all the right to decide whether we want to avail the happy hours or the swiggy offers.
This is extremely bad service. They were trying to manipulate us to not use swiggy offer because using swiggy offers gave us more discount that happy hours did. We ourselves recalculated the whole bill using original prices of everything and then realised that availing the happy hours did not make much difference from the original prices bill. In fact, availing the swiggy walk-in offer was more profitable, in fact we should have used the prebook offer in the first place. So my advice to all customers SWIGGY PREBOOK OFFER(25% FLAT OFF) or WALK-IN OFFER(if you have not prebooked) IS MORE PROFITABLE THAN USING THEIR HAPPY HOURS MENU.
I have attached proof that they have fooled us. In the video, they are mentioning kamakazi shots clearly which we actually ordered from the happy hours menu but gave us jaggermeister. In the photo of the bill I have posted here, you can see it is written jaggermeister.
Don't go to this...
Read moreDestination 16 - My first clubbing experience. I'll provide detailed insights, covering both the pros and cons. This marked my inaugural visit to a pub/club, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Let's begin with the positives.
Politeness all around: Everyone, from the people to the bartenders and guards, displayed remarkable politeness and spoke gently, even during the bustling rush. Notably, one bartender went above and beyond, ensuring the safety of my purse and making the drinking experience memorably fun.
Affordable prices: Compared to other clubs, the prices were reasonable. My boyfriend and I spent approximately 5k on drinks and hookah, which seemed quite reasonable.
Respectful bouncers: The bouncers were not overly intrusive, maintaining a respectful distance. They were available for assistance when needed, contributing to an overall atmosphere of respect among the crowd.
Now, turning to the cons, it's essential to acknowledge that not everything can be flawless, especially for a new club.
Limited space: The venue was a bit small and became overly crowded towards the end, understandably due to New Year's Eve. Seating was scarce, and we couldn't find a spot. However, flexibility is required in a public club setting, and we managed to secure a table about an hour before leaving the table for another couple.
Song choice: The selection of songs could have been improved. While 60% of the music was enjoyable for dancing, the remaining 40% left room for improvement. A better selection of songs would enhance the overall experience.
Despite these cons, the positive aspects outweighed the negatives. The crowd was pleasant and sophisticated, contributing to a sense of safety throughout the night. I encountered no difficulties.
Overall, I rate the experience 8/10 and look forward to visiting again...
Read moreTucked in the heart of Kolkata’s ever-buzzing Park Street, Destination 16 is where vintage charm meets a lively party vibe. The décor is warm and inviting, with exposed brick walls, ambient lighting, and a classy rooftop setup that’s perfect for both date nights and squad hangouts.
Food & Drinks: The menu is a mix of Indian, Asian, and Continental — and while it may not blow your mind, it definitely satisfies. The chicken tikka tacos and cheesy mushroom cigars were solid picks, while the pasta felt a bit average. Their cocktails, though, deserve a shout-out — well-balanced, potent, and served with flair. The “Rum Highball” and “Tequila Pop” were standouts.
Ambience: The vibe picks up post 8 PM — great music, a good mix of retro and commercial hits, and a crowd that knows how to have fun without going overboard. The rooftop seating is definitely the highlight, especially in winter evenings or breezy nights.
Service: The staff is polite, though during peak hours you might have to follow up once or twice. But nothing that ruins the experience.
Final verdict: If you’re looking for a lively yet tasteful night out in Kolkata — with music, cocktails, and a cool crowd — Destination 16 is a great choice. Just don’t expect culinary genius, come...
