Smells in the bathroom For a couple of the days we were staying, our bathroom had tracked the smell of tobacco smoke through the vents. There were claims that it was the air conditioning that had been cleaned or something, but I’m pretty sure someone in a room nearby was smoking. The staff were helpful in this situation though and came to freshen up the bathroom and find a cause. We did also notice the smell in the bathroom near the bar on a couple occasions.  Broken bits In the bathroom there were a couple bits that could do with sorting. One less important is the shower head being a little dented, gives it a rustic look the way it is, and it still works fine but could do with being hammered into place. The second thing was the little mirror light wasn’t working and the integrity seemed fragile, once fixed it would be a great little feature. Room aesthetics  Some damp around the walls and a few small water damaged marks on the floor were probably a downfall of the room. It wasn’t anything that was so major it was an issue, but it’s easy fixes that you’d expect a 5-star hotel to look out for. These kinds of issues are expected from an old building. However, if you have severe asthma, it could cause issues, but other than that we didn’t have issues. some useful advice: Buttons on the toilet can go in deep and if you have young children just be mindful, they can very easily get their fingers stuck in there (picture included).  WIFI It worked fine while you were connected to it, but you need a new code every 3/4 days as it disconnects automatically. For me though it was disconnecting everyday which was slightly annoying, but my partner didn’t experience this issue at all so depends on the phone you have I guess. Regardless ask front desk they are ever so helpful

It makes me laugh out loud when I read the “5 star” reviews written about this 2 star hotel (2 stars only for the location obviously!) it’s like people are being paid to write good reviews about this place ! Our “5 star hotel” experience went like this : - An untrained intern named Diya with no politeness or sense of hospitality gave us a smokey room 201 on the 2nd floor with paper cut outs covering the shabby paint by the electrical sockets. - the sinks and bathtubs had brown cigarette butt burn marks which made them look disgusting. - of course the phones don’t work - the curtains have red lipstick stains and I don’t know what else ! - after requesting for a room change we were amused that on closing our “new room 207” the door handle broke off and fell to the ground in 3 parts (photographic evidence attached!) - the housekeeping staff doesn’t show up when asked to clean the room and the doorbell is rung at anytime without any consideration of your sleep schedule. - I think my favourite highlights are the suffocating smell of smoke perfect for Asthma patients especially! The invariably strained, dirty, broken, outdated rooms, the nauseating attitude of female staff and the fact that it’s anything but a 5 star hotel. Don’t waste your money here, donate it to charity instead. The ITC and Taj hotels wouldn’t make a fool of you the way this hotel does.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It cost me Rs 9700 per night for 2 person and 1 child ( 6 Year). This price is inclusive of Breakfast and one major meal for all. The service and behaviour of the staff are very good. Considering the price I initially thought of giving 4 stars but I changed my view after seeing the hospitality and behaviour of the staff. The day we are checking out my son is not eating anything in the morning. So they packed one alloo Paratha for him without asking. They have a well maintained swimming pool with jacuzzi. The location of this hotel is great. It is on the park Street. Food was also awesome. They don't serve buffet if you have MAP plan. They let you choose items from there menu and I like this better than buffet as I can choose any thing. On request they will serve the items to the rooms also. This is the first hotel that serves food in the room in an MAP plan. But the room size is very small. The room doesn't have any cupboards to keep clothes. The bathroom doesn't have the locking provision which I don't like. Also they don't have a hand shower or Tap with a bucket for the shower. So it is very uncomfortable for Ladies.

Title: Unpleasant Encounter at Park Hotel Kolkata with North East Employees

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5 Stars)

I recently had a regrettable experience at Park Hotel Kolkata, which left me extremely disappointed and ashamed. The behavior of some North East employees towards guests clearly indicated a lack of professionalism and a total disregard for customer service.

The incident occurred during my visit to Roxy, the nightclub located within the hotel premises. To gain entry, I paid a considerable amount of 3000 rs, expecting to enjoy a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, my expectations were shattered when I encountered a North East employee along with a bouncer who confronted me.

Instead of providing a reasonable explanation or assistance, they shamelessly turned me out of the hotel without any valid reason. Their actions left me feeling humiliated and pathetic. It was evident that they were more interested in scamming people out of their money rather than providing the high-quality service that Park Hotel claims to offer.

What disappointed me the most was the discriminatory behavior displayed by the North East employee. Stereotyping someone based on their ethnicity is simply unacceptable and goes against the principles of professionalism and respect. This incident revealed a lack of training, zero customer orientation, and gave off an aura of absolute disregard for guest satisfaction.

As an establishment that charges significant amounts for its services, Park Hotel Kolkata should prioritize ensuring a pleasant and inclusive atmosphere for all patrons. It is their responsibility to select, train, and supervise their employees adequately. The presence of such individuals not only damages their reputation but also creates an unsafe and unwelcoming environment for guests.

I strongly urge Park Hotel management to address these concerns and take appropriate action against the individuals responsible for my unpleasant experience. It is critical for them to invest in staff training, especially when it comes to providing quality service and treating all guests with equality and dignity.

Based on my unfortunate encounter, I cannot recommend Park Hotel Kolkata to future guests. It is disheartening to witness the lack of professionalism and respect displayed by some of the employees, tarnishing the reputation of an otherwise reputed...

Each room is equipped with all the modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, high-speed internet access, minibars, and tea/coffee makers. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are of high quality, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The rooms also have large windows that provide plenty of natural light and offer fantastic views of the city. The hotel has a range of dining options, from the signature restaurant, The Bridge, which serves delicious global cuisine, to Zen, an award-winning rooftop restaurant that offers a fusion of Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine. There is also a lounge bar, Someplace Else, that serves a variety of cocktails and snacks, as well as a poolside bar, Aqua, that offers refreshing drinks and light bites. All of the food is excellent, with a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes and dietary restrictions. The Park also boasts an impressive range of facilities, including a rooftop swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, and a business center. The rooftop pool is particularly impressive, offering stunning views of the city skyline. The fitness center is well-equipped, with modern machines and free weights, and the spa offers a range of treatments to help you relax and rejuvenate. The hotel's location is also a major advantage.
