Read moreIt's a home boutique cum tea place. Seating area- sofa style ( For AC ) & chair arrangement ( For non AC). The place is really cozy for friends-family meet ups. Their menu is mainly evening snacks with a variety of tea and beverages which is quite expected, (Breakfast menu is also available). But if you go for lunch or dinner it might be a bit difficult to choose from only a page listed with a few types of rice or noodles With mainly chicken sides (combos also available). Food and staff behaviour both really good. Maybe it was a lazy weekday afternoon and we were only customer so service was extra delayed but the overall experience was so nice! They always asked if something was in need and made sure to serve properly with care. Will visit again! We ordered : 1.Chicken chatpata momo (Tasted SO GOOD) - 250/- for 5 pieces. Lemon baked bhetki (Fish was fresh and delicious too) - 430/- for 2 pieces. Chicken steam momo (Classic and tasty!) - 150/- for 5 pieces. Wine tea - 200/- for a glass (It tasted good but not like some alcoholic beverages! Maybe it's just for the name lol) Mango mojito and Strawberry mojito-132/- EACH. (Both were summer perfect coolers! Loved it) Kung pao chicken 265/- for 6 pieces. (It tasted good and worth trying!) Chicken chatpata momos from The Happy Hour Menu(12pm to 5pm)- 6 pieces for 200/- (Each Plate 99/-).It was only a total waste as per our experience. The dish they served even looked different from the Regular Menu one. And the taste was so bland and it was more like a maida pakoda tossed in some gravy and yes I couldn't find chicken in the filling! So it was a Bad Choice overall. So Better go for their Regular menu dishes and drinks! The taste was good enough and appetizing! OFFER - You'll get 10% Off if you're visiting them for...
Read moreWe (The Duo, me & my wife) were roaming aimlessly around that area this Saturday. Suddenly, my wife, drew my attention to this café. I must say, the outside look is very unassuming, and somehow, we felt let's explore it from inside.
So we went in and really liked the decor of the café. Each segment has a unique style of presentation. We felt as if we have entered a café from 1980s, indeed, we cherished the concept of it.
We think, this place is very ideal for group of old friends, who are meeting after a long time since school / college days. There is also option for speakers and mic if some people want to have a small jamming session among friends. In this matter one should book the place beforehand with the café management team.
In terms of beverages, we really liked the Darjeeling tea but since we did not have any proper food so it will be tough for us to comment on the food section.
But since we visit many café in Kolkata, we have some suggestions for Moutat. The artistic essence of the café is indeed appealing so the management can use it more in a innovative way to attract the art & culture loving Bengalis. Even, food pallet can be also reorganized keeping the Bengali emotions. As for example, in beverage, doi er ghol in matir bhar, as starter, mocha r chop in bamboo plates etc. can surely find place in the Menu. These are just some suggestion from our side and we wish Moutat will do very good in...
