New Royal Biryani — Restaurant in Kolkata

The menu of this stall starts with the punch line, "We also take party order". Well yea, this particular statement seems a joke as because I do not find any reason for a sane person to give them party orders. Located in the intersection of Surya Sen Street and Kanai Dhar Lane just opposite to Gunjan Chinese Food Stall, it opened with a hue and cry. Despite creating a buzz on its opening, it forgot to care for two basic things - hygiene and taste. The biryani is being prepared in a dirty state of affair and so is their tiny seating area. A casual glance at the place will give you an idea how pathetic it can be. While the cleanliness takes a back seat the taste of biryani amazes you but in an adverse way. Well, the biryani doesn't take like a being one, nor does other items on the menu. The only things that tastes according to its name is Aalu and Salad. Well, a positive point, at last! The chicken biriyani taste awesome. The chicken is juicy but on my multiple visits i have faced that the meat is not tender. Most of the time is so happens that the alu is not boiled properly and be being bengali have a craving towards the aloo . The quality of perfect but the price is on a higher side. The in house dining area is not that good and looks shabby and not at all comfortable for dinning in. Take away is the only option which is the best one. I must recommend the shop owner to improve the in-house seating area which is on the 1st floor...

While going towards College street I came across this restaurant. Me and some of my friends visited went to this shop for lunch during Durga Puja, it was really crowded that time but normally I have seen it doesn't remain that busy all the time. We ordered for Biryani some went for mutton and some for chicken. The Biryani was tasty and could easily be rated 3/5.
