Wafira — Restaurant in Kolkata

Not a safe place for common people. It's all about yesterday... We had a booking over there. We were spending good time with our friends... It was out first outing to Wafira... but probably it gonna be the last... the entire ambience was really good except one incident... we were dancing, eating, maintaining all the guidelines and restrictions of Wafira...had not created any nuisance...having a good time ... Suddenly one guy hugged my husband and started pressing him getting violent.... my husband pushed him back and another guy held his collar tightly and tried to create a scene...just spoilt our night... When our friends were asking him why hime did so he called security and asked him to took out friends away... Behaviour was extremely ridiculous. No we didn't know the guy as we never saw him before. We even didn't know why he was doing such things. But the question is how a person can do this in a so called 'safe' pub where women's day is celebrated every Wednesday without knowing the person... All this happened within a few minutes... We came to know that the guy was a regular goer to Wafira.. Even after paying such a huge amount there how come such incidents happen? Is there any safety for common people to go to a place like Wafira? If such things happen, no common people can go such places... Where is the safety and security for non-regular pub goers to Wafira? Even after taking a high amount of bill, why do we have to face such violence? Who will be responsible for such incidents?? As these people visit these places regularly, no steps will be taken against them... Then it can't be a safe place for anyone who seldom ever visit Wafira... beware... No one knows when you face these...

Wafira, is located just opposite to the Metro Plaza mall in Camac street near Maidan metro station.

It is a three level lounge and fine dine. There is live music performed and also DJ nights. The place is open till 4am in the morning. They have rooftop seating with live sports on the giant projector and apart from that apart from that they have separate domes for a group seating with minimum bill of 10k in that mostly for private group dine in.

The place gives you a royal feeling and a great ambiance.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The service is very good.

They serve hookahs and they made a choice of hookah for us and was very cooperative in our choices.

The cocktails we order were:

Ultimate LIIT : which was a mixture of all the drinks also brandy into it kinda giving it the ultimate feeling served in a beer mug. Cocomelon balls: This is a soda less cocktail served in a martini glass with rum and coconut milk kinda sweet yet strong topped with melons. One of the unique cocktail.

Food :

Chicken Teriyaki Bao: Classic all time favourite bao served in a pair with soft juicy chicken inside and the soft bun outside melts in the mouth served with Beetroot salad. Chicken Yakitori: One of the Japanese style chicken with capsicum served in a stick with a combo of chicken and capsicum consists of three sticks of it. Fish Oriental roast: Fish served in oriental sauce and the fish was soft and lil spicy too. The flavours melts in the mouth. Chicken Szechwan Coat: Chicken coated in spicy Szechwan coating with vegetables was one of the spicy yet finger licking dish.

The quantity was sufficient and the quality of the food was great. A much visit place and should...

So wanted to visit this place since a long time now, had made a few plans but all got cancelled due to some reason. But finally one successful plan was made and man I was happy.

Location : Ho Chi Minh Sarani, The Golden Park building right opposite to The Metro Shopping Center.

Service : Astonishingly service was very quick even on a Saturday night. Generally all the cafes or restaurants fail yo provide a quick service, but the service at Wafira was super quick.

Food & Drinks : • Crispy Chilly Babycorn Rs 360 - It the classic nothing amusing or new same old we get the same taste everywhere.

• Veg Mix Sauce Pasta Rs 470 - Pasta was good with good amount of loaded veggies and a thickis gravy loved it.

• Veg Chilli Garlic Noodles Rs 250 - I was totally impressed with it, so loved the flavours and the presentation. Best it was..!!

• Veg Seekh Kebab Rs 360 - To be honest I guess it was my first time trying Veg Seekh Kebab somewhere and man I so loved it with the green chutney.

• Carrot Infused Philadelphia Cream Cheese Dimsums Rs 525 - This Dimsum was mind blowing, my favourite from the things we ordered. It was so filled with cream cheese and had a little bit of mushroom that I wanted to have all the four pieces they served.

• Hummus And Falfel Wrap Rs 435 - Liked the wrap it was good and delicious. Nothing very exciting, liked the presentation. The touch of micro greens was blissful.

• Butter Garlic Naan Rs 115 • Cheese Garlic Naan Rs 135 • Dal Makhani Rs 415 - Fan, I am a fan of Dal Makhani and man when order entered the cavana the smell just took me away with itself. I was mouthwatering with just the smell only. So we just jumped to have it and loved it too much.
