Kolkata, celebrate! There’s a great Mexican joint in town! My friend A who suggests all the best places to eat recommended this place for a late-ish Saturday lunch. This restaurant is located in the Jubilee Building where the old Gabbar’s was - near the US consulate - on Ho Chi Minh Sarani. The ambience is like a Mexican cantina, so welcoming and relaxing. The bright red and blue decor is beautiful. There are quirky neon signs and art on the walls. The menus are so beautifully designed - with photos of Mexico City and it was a pleasure to peruse them. We sat in a cosy sunlit room for lunch and later watched the evening slowly come in and the rooms rooms light up one after the other. The service is pleasant and helpful. Our server, Nirmal was lovely and made great suggestions Now, coming to what we ate and drank. We drank a Batanga and a Twisted Paloma. Then, a young chef came and made fresh guacamole at our table which we had with nachos. This was followed by Habanero chicken bites (very fancy chicken nuggets) with two yummy dips. For the tacos, we tried a couple. The Pork carnitas taco was excellent and the cheese wrapped ancho chili Anaheim Costra taco was awesome! Both tacos were accompanied by different sauces. For dessert, which was a little too sweet for me, we had churros and champurrado. The churros themselves were fantastic but the caramel and chocolate sauce were very sweet. Would definitely go back to taste more! I hope they don’t sacrifice authenticity to cater to the...

• Ambience: Warm and inviting. On a quiet Monday, the restaurant had a calm vibe, perfect for a relaxed outing. • Service: Prompt and attentive staff who go above and beyond. They prepared a special dish for a child and even gifted a balloon for play. • Food Presentation: Dishes were plated beautifully, adding to the overall dining experience. •Valet parking available.
Food:: Hits: • Veg tomato soup • Burrata salad (but burrata can be company be changed as it seemed little hard/stretchy or could be old) • Supreme nachos, babycorn elote, loaded fries • cheese quesadilla (for kid), Tre Queso Quesadilla (adults) • Veg Burrito Bowl - loved the rice flavour, can be made spicy though
Misses: • Paneer Tacos (okish, not bad) • Jackfruit tocos (seemed like added churan powder) • Mushroom fondue - just cheese stretchy hard- do not order • Jalapeno tequilla cocktail
Beverages: • Michelada beer cocktail was nice • Guava chilli mocktail is really nice - must try

Read moreHappy to finally visit this place. This has been on my checklist for quite some time now. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. This place offers some lipsmacking Mexican cuisine and interesting cocktails. Hats off to the mixologist! If you are planning a quiet date or a brunch or dinner with your gang and wish to try authentic Mexican cuisine this is the place to be. Coming to the price factor, I wouldn't call it overpriced considering the dining experience you are getting here. Besides, not every place is meant for every one. I went with a friend of mine and for cocktails we ordered The Pinãta, Tales of Tulum, The Capitol, Streets of Oaxaca From the appetizers we ordered Baby Corn Elote, Tre Queso Quesadilla (with grilled chicken), Tequila Borracho Shrimp. For Main Course we ordered a Rice bowl with Achiote Grilled Chicken. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Honeycomb and it was decadent. I would love to visit Mehico again, and this time definitely at night during...
