I frequent this place quite a bit and I've always left full and happy . Service maybe slow at times but the food more than makes up for it. However on a Sunday when we decided to have a nice decent breakfast here we had a less than satisfying experience. We came in and we're handed the menu. Our first pick was the breakfast combo which sadly was unavailable so we didn't really mind much. What we ordered was the masala cheese omelet with toast and tea. And even that was delivered to us wrong on the table after waiting for nearly 25 minutes in an empty restaurant. Now that itself isn't that big of an issue and I'm usually not that fussy. But what really ticked me off was when we asked the waiter about it and right off the bat, he became defensive and had a slight annoyed tone in his voice as if we were the hindrance. I'm speaking from experience as well having worked in the hospitality industry myself for a number of years. Getting annoyed and blaming the chef for something the waiter should've known as he was bringing the food is a big no-no . The least he could've done is tone down abit instead of getting defensive about the chef making the wrong order when he could've checked the food himself when it was done and bringing it up. Honestly masala omelets is not that hard to recognise. But anyway I'm still giving it four stars for the countless times service and food had been...
Read moreThis place is one of its kind and possibly has the worst service in Shillong (service is generally slow in most restaurants here). The only server catering to some 5 tables seemed completely lost. We were made to wait for an hour just to get a lime soda, masala soda and lime tea. Not to mention that our food order was never placed as the waiter forgot to pass it on to the kitchen. This is what the manager told us when we called him to check our order. What a ridiculous excuse one can give...now coming to the food order, the lemon tea tasted like something else altogether, the sandwich was like what my 9 year old son would make for himself at home, and the penne was like the non spicy bland pink sauce pasta you would ask for your toddler child, fish and chips had more chips than fish(which was clearly frozen)..the only thing they got right in all of this was the masala coke., which finally came after we had finished our dinner. Stay away from this place if you wish not to ruin a nice evening with...
Read moreThis boasts a stunning view of Police Bazaar, a major plus for any diner. The service is also commendable, with attentive staff. Unfortunately, the limited seating area can feel cramped, especially during peak hours.
However, the biggest letdown is the food. The dishes fall short of expectations, lacking flavor and overall quality. The rice, a crucial element in many Indian meals, was particularly disappointing.
For a place with such a great view and service, it's a shame the food doesn't live up to its potential. With some improvements in the menu and...
