Apsara icecream is a renowned icecream parlour brand of Mumbai since around 50 yrs. I believe as of today they have about 30 outlets in Mumbai itself. They also have outlets spread across other cities of India.I visited their Malabar hill outlet yesterday night which is their iconic outlet
They serve variety of icecreams in cups(small, medium.large) as well as cones.
Icecreams made here are with natural flavours and not artificial flavours. These icecreams are handchurned icecreams.
Staff service is reasonably good at Malabar hill outlet but i personally have seen better staff service at other parlours.Definite scope of improvement on staff service front.Apart from icecreams they also have sorbets & shakes.
Coming to variety of icecreams i tried here
Guava glory (small cup)- Star icecream of Apsara for me .Try it with red chilli powder(peru chaat masala) on top of icecream .Highly recommended
Malai kulfi stick -This about taking you back to sweet childhood memories.
Its a delicious sweet dessert served on stick .You will relish it if you like malai flavour. They also have options in pistachio and kesar pista.
Beligan bites (cone) -This i tried in waffle cone. This is all about enjoying Beligan chocolate with chips
Scrumptious sitafal(small cup) -A perfect combination of icecream and exotic creamy fruit. This is dessert goodness at next level.I personally loved it
Pan pasand(cone) - Before visiting this place.I had heard a lot of good things about their pan pasand icecream.Try this and you will thank me for recommending it
Tamarind twist(sorbet) - Imli in form of dessert. This is innovation and experimentation at its best. This sorbet has sharp flavour of tangy tamarind.
My overall experience was reasonably good at Apsara icecreams.A good option for late night icecream cravings.
I genuinely hope to see them coming up with premium range of desserts in coming times.
I didnt try their Thandai and couple of other shakes. Will definitely try it the next time i visit them
Overall - Definitely worth your money

Read moreLocated near Gopi Birla Memorial School at Subhadra Mansion on Walkeshwar Road, Malabar Hill; Apsara Ice Cream is a well known place which has been there since my childhood days. They now have multiple outlets across the city but this one is still my favourite one. Its easy to locate as its on the main road itself. A place which gives you one of the best hand rafted ice creams, they have many varieties of ice creams and their menu is segregated in different heads such as Fruitylitious, Nuttylitious, Chocolitious, Sorbelitious, Kulfilitious and Shakelitious; they also have sugarfree range of ice creams. All ice creams are pure VEGETARIAN. The place is kids friendly too. The scoops are available in small, medium and large sizes.
My late night icecream cravings took me to this place and we tried the below ice creams:
Guava Glory – Tasting almost next to real guava; they had also sprinkled red chilli masala on the top of it which gave the extra zingggg.
Orange Apricot – Getting this recommendation from them was heavenly. We loved the perfect orange tang flavour with apricot pieces.
Belgian Bites – An amazing dark chocolate flavoured ice cream where you get to experience the pure Belgian sinful chocolate taste.
Jambu Josh – An ice cream which loterally gives you the JOSH with the JAMBU flavour with little bites of Jambu fruit in it.
Overall, we had an amazing icecreamelitious time here. This ice cream parlour has unique flavours and delighteful ice creams which are creamier and richer in taste. There are so many ie cream sellers in the market yet Apsara Ice Cream has kept their flavour standards by covering every aspect of it. The service was good and we would like to specially thank Mr. Sandeep for the same. Try their flavours in your nearest outlet.

Real flavour dominates over essence (Trust me and my grandmother) Has a Point system for rewards (~1 small scoop free every 10 small scoops) Lot of area to lounge, relax and savour that ice-cream.

Apsara is famous in the city for their iconic 'sancha' ice creams. That means that they make their ice creams in large rotating containers surrounded by a freezing mixture. This method is time consuming but the constant and steady churning gives their ice creams a very creamy and rich texture that one immediately picks up. They have quite a good roster of flavours available with occasional seasonal delicacies. The range includes variations of chocolate, fruit based, and miscellaneous such as pan, pani-puri, sugarcane, rose, vanilla, roasted almond etc. For those who are avoiding the calories or evading milk, they also serve a couple of sorbets. Best part is that although they don't possess the mouth watering layout of a Baskin-Robbins, they taste really great and every flavour costs the same at an affordable 60 rupees for a small scoop with and 10 or 20 rupees for a cone. Apsara is expanding their outlets but the one at Walkeshwar has the best ambience. Lot of room to sit and savour as it was built few decades ago when socializing was fun, especially with a yummy dessert. They were also experimenting with milkshakes but that doesn't look like its flying too high. Apsara still remains an Indian centric ice-cream...
