It is located dead opposite to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The ambience of this place is vibrant and colorful with lovely lighting. The seating is amazing. Mostly you'll spot families and friends gathered at this place. The staff is super friendly.
We visited this place on a Wednesday evening. Mr. Ravindra Singh welcomed us with a smile. The menu is vast with lots to order, but Mr. Singh helped us to order, according to our preferences.
What we ordered: In Continental Appetizers 💯 Jalapeno Cheese nuggets which is a must try here. These were the best I ever had. Thanks to Mr. Singh. They were cheesy and flavorful which was served with a spicy sauce. Amazing combo. The Mushroom Labneh Bruschetta, was delicious. The mushroom had a nice smoky flavor and the spread on the bread and toppings on the mushroom made it the best bruschetta. Then we ordered the Moroccan Paneer which looked delicious, the outer coating was so crisp and there was soft paneer on the inside which was filled with veggies in between. The chilli dip served with it was something I didn't prefer but the starter was great and crisp. 💯 The Mumbai Masala Cheese toasts which was again suggested by Mr. Singh was beyond amazing and is a must try. It is a classic and is delicious and cheesy in taste with loads of veggies and flavorful masala.
Mocktails 🍹 The Raspberry Apple Cruncher It was a berryful drink with slices of apple on top. It was served in a Mason Jar. For someone like me who likes cranberry, raspberry drinks, this is something to go for. 💯The Bull frog is more like a blue lagoon drink with lemony flavor in it. It is definitely a must try.
Cocktails 🍸 Unicorn As unique as it's name this cocktail is served in a fancy glass with orange juice and basil with a sour mix of taste and Bailey which is served in a test tube which is to be poured from the top. 💯Smoked Berry This is something worth trying, the volume of this cocktail is huge. It is served in a big spherical glass. They use kiwi instead of the berries due to some availability issues, but not a problem. They did a good job using kiwi. The cocktails is delicious and will also suffice your smoky vibes.
Oriental starter 🍲 💯The Sizzling Paneer in Black Pepper Sauce Delicious, soft Paneer coated in pepper sauce served on a sizzling platter. This dish was the best I ever tasted and is beyond words.
Tandoori Starters 🍢 💯Bharwa Paneer Nicely grilled paneer stuffed with veggies in between. This dish is spicy and creamy at the same time which is served with salad and lime on the side. The Paneer cubes are huge and delicious. 💯Mushroom Afghani Grilled mushroom stuffed and nicely marinated with creamy herbs and spices. A definitely try for all the mushroom lovers.
Mains 🍛 Kofta Punjabi Tadka with Naan The Kofta gravy had nice makhani, spicy flavor with a tadka and koftas on the topped. The naans were soft and buttery and went well with the gravy.
Deserts 🍰🥧 💯 Chocolate Mousse A classic and creamy mousse topped with chocolate sauce and served in a cute little jar, the best, yummy and chocolaty mousse is always a win win. 💯💯 Shahi Tukda Shots As I tasted the Shahi Tukda with rabbi it made me cry. It is the best best best Shahi Tukda I ever had. The buttery and crunchy tukdas with Malai rabdi will make your day.
Overall experience The Service is pretty speedy. The servers are helpful and polite. All the portions served were great in quantity and taste. All the above dishes were beyond amazing and made our day. It was a very good vegetarian experience. Even people who prefer non vegetarian dishes should visit this place someday, I'm sure it'll change your perspective. Great job by...
Read moreHappy House Kitchen is a relatively new place opened near Girgaum Chowpatty. It has replaced S&F near Babulnath, easy to locate. The place serves multi cuisine and is an all out veg restaurant. There is a lot of fusion food, where indian food has been mixed in a lot of Mexican and Italian cuisines. Only veg, looking at the surrounding and crowd it attracts. They do have a small bar counter as well.
The interiors are vibrant and bright. Best what I like is on one side of the wall they have shells or compartments where a lot of small interesting show pieces have been kept. Very nicely done. On other side of the wall there are hangings of writing pads with images on them. They have 2 levels and on ground floor, they have a large space to accommodate a large group or family.
Coming to what all I tried at Happy House Kitchen -
We tried a couple of starters had the famous and chef special Guacamole Golgappe. Neatly presented like a lot of fancy gastronomic and molecular restaurants. This place has also worked very hard on their presentation of every dish. However I felt the punch in taste was missing. Guacamole was filled in the Puri but just felt the taste was less. Even the Pudina water couldn't add much. Next tried the Jalfrezi Kaise Diya! It is indeed a very innovative of spelling Quesadillas. This was by far their best dish. Mexican Tortillas well cooked filled with Paneer, Bell Peppers and Green Onion with some cheese served with mint chutney was amazing! Would definitely recommend all to try this.
Ordered a Mocktail - interesting name to it Char So Bees Green Apple - mix of Green Apple and Paan Syrup with Pineapple juice mix topped with plenty of ice cubes to serve it chilled. Neatly presented on a Leaf. Just felt it was too sweet and I could feel the syrup in every sip. May be a little work is required to fine tune the mix.
For main course, there were plenty of options but were confused. Finally settled for Chilli Cheese Flat Bread! Difficult to go wrong here, well prepared flat bread topped with Bell Pepper, Amul Cheese, Onions and Italian spice. Those who like basics would prefer eating this any time of the day!
Finally for dessert we called for Terrarium Dessert! It was very neatly presented, full of red and green Colors. Was excited looking at Cookie Crumble, French Vanilla Panacotta and Red Velvet Sponge all served in glass terrarium. However the taste was a tad disappointing. Taste in Panacotta was missing and Red Velvet Sponge was a little hard for my liking.
All-in-all I feel the place has a lot of potential. And it is interesting to see so much fusion food available in the menu with very interesting names and interesting fusion concepts. Just a bit of fine tuning is needed in some dishes. Good luck to...
