Visited the second time. Last visited it in December 2016 and instantly fell in love (I'm from Delhi). One of the best places for vegetarian Asian food (Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese).
The closest local station is Charni Road. It's a 5 min walk from there. Right in front of Girgaum Chowpatty and Marine drive is just there. Location wise it's best.
The ambience is really pleasant. The decor and furniture is light coloured, shades of off white mostly, and relaxes the mind instantly. Light music played adds to the pleasant vibe. The interesting facts and puzzle games on the paper tablecloth not only keeps people engaged while their food is prepared but also builds an interactive environment for conversations in this smartphone world.
The food is just delicious. Every dish on the menu is special in itself. The must tries- Tom Kha Soup, Crispy Corn & Water Chestnut Appetizer, Buddha's Bowl, Nasi Goreng, Thai Curries with Jasmine Rice, Lychee Mandarin Mojito. What is even astonishing is that they even serve Jain variety in above. Everything on the menu is exquisite and this place sure becomes a fav for all vegetarians. Morover, just even finding a completely vegetarian Asian food restaurant is nothing short of amazing.
The bill is said to be around ₹1200 for two which is worth it. They also serve a lunch buffet which is just for ₹565 all inclusive and is a great option to try.
Lastly, the service is great too and you will just need to pickup your forks and dig in for everything is served by the servers and they won't leave you unattended even once.
So, overall it's a must visit for all the food lovers and especially for the ones who Iike to explore good food....
Read moreAsian Street Kitchen is a hidden gem! I am a fan of this type of cuisine, I have been to ASK twice and I plan to visit it again and again. The reason being, many reasons! First of all the dishes are value for money. All the dishes are reasonably priced. The quantity is enough to fill your stomach. The taste is an important factor, which makes me like ASK more, because each dish has it's own distinct taste. On my first visit I ordered the following dishes :
Tofu Mushroom Bao : Crunchy Fried Tofu mixed with delicious sauce placed between soft bread, it tastes heavenly. (Must try)*
Mixed Vegetable Dimsums : You get to taste 3 different kinds of dimsums, 2 pieces each. They are very light to the stomach.
Nasi Goreng : Their signature dish. The flavourful cottage cheese satay + Fried (popadam) + Spicy Rice = A Hit Dish. (Must try)*
Pad Thai Noodles : Flat Noodles with tamarind flavour. I didn't like this dish that much. But it's worth trying once.
On my second visit I ordered the following dishes :
Paneer Chilli Bao : It's good but my favourite one is Tofu Mushroom Bao.
Spicy Basil Noodles : Flat Wheat Noodles with veggies and the (sweet + spicy + sour) sauce. The noodles have a balanced flavour.
So if you haven't been to ASK yet, plan your visit...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant on 12th February at around 3.15 PM, The closing time of restaurant was 3.30Pm, while entering we confirmed was restaurant open or not the waiter said yes and we entered. While coming out of washroom one of the waiter was starring me in a very weird manner as if we have went there for time pass, than we ordered fried rice, noodles and Manchurian.
The taste of food was just similar to the local Chinese restaurant trust me it was not at all tasty, as if they have done a favour on us by making that food. My son is very fond of noodles but he left that and we were being stared by all waiters standing there as if they were waiting for us to just leave, I was feeling really awkward that time, and they put the bill on the table so early while my husband was eating that was really ridiculous, I was feeling like to ask them if they don't want anyone to come than why they have allowed us to enter.
That was really very bad experience ever we had in any kind of...
