A new addition in the Heart of Mumbai and Located in Chowpatty View Building opposite Sukh Sagar in Chowpatty; La Veggie as the name suggests is a Pure Vegetarian restaurant catering North Indian, Continental, Chinese, Italian and Mexican cuisines and also serves Vegan and Jain food as well as is a kid friendly restaurant.
Restaurant is large (3000 sq ft and around 140 seater) with seating space on ground and first floor and the tables are comfortable while the chairs are standard. We visited this place on a Wednesday evening at 7 and the place was getting packed and by 8 it was almost full. The menu is curated keeping in mind the Gujarati taste.
TO THE FOOD:
Appetizers: La Veggie Coins – A chef’s special dish which had pan seared green peas patties with chimichurri. Delicious and tasty.
Ragu Hummus – Hummus with soya keema and pita bread which was a healthy option we opted to try.
Shakes & Smoothie: Raspberry Smoothie – a mix of raspberry pulp with banana, hazelnut blended with curd topped with wipped cream and raspberry liquid. We liked it.
Soups & Salads: Ceaser Salad – Another healthy option to munch on which had Iceberg with bell peppers and shaved parmesan cheese mini slices.
Pizza: Street Corn – a thin crust pizza comprising of tomato sauce and cheese with cooked street corn sprinked on it along with bell peppers. A little high on salt.
Rice and Noodles: Fire Bowl – This had the base layer of rice toped with gravy and noodles. As the name suggests, it was little spicy but delicious too.
Overall, go for this place. It’s a nice option for a vegetarian meal. A casual dining place perfect for family and friends. Prime location and Valet parking (definitely needed here) adds to the experience. Service is nice but still a little improvement can be made. Give them a try !!

Read moreThe ambience is okay and decent, not too great not too bad. There is a seating area on entry and it has a first floor seating capacity too. For a huge group there is a dining area inside with a huge table capable of accomodating 12-15 guests with ease. Coming to the food, it was really very good both in quality and quantity. I loved their serving pans, every sabzi was served in that pan and it looked exciting too. The presentation was also good and neat. It deserves a 5-star in food. We tried both jain and regular varieties of various food items from soup to starters to main course and juices too. Their taste is fresh and natural with not too much of garam masala induced spicyness and the variants with paneer were the highlight!! Their paneer is sooo soft and fresh that it just melts in your mouth! We even ordered a pan of 'plain dahi' and it was very fresh, creamy and thickk!!! The cheese garlic naan was also very yummy but i've had better so it's not the best! Food items we ordered were- tomato soup, manchow soup, some jain paneer starter, chilli paneer starter, dum aloo sabzi, veg angara sabzi, jain veg makhmali, jain and regular paneer butter masala, butter kulchas, cheese garlic naan, plain dahi, plain papad, masala papad, watermelon mojitos, basil bliss mocktail, appletini, elder flower iced tea, cranberry cooler, pink lady float. Phew...'twas a long list to...
Read moreThis restaurant is a complete scam. I strongly advise against visiting. A group of 8 of us went, and after our meal, we ordered Watermelon juice. We were shocked to receive the bill, which included a charge of Rs 250 per glass, a price that was not listed on their menu. The manager's explanation was even more baffling, claiming that the juice was not on the menu and was the same as the watermelon mojito despite the absence of any mint or mojito-like elements in the juice.
Above all, their service was very slow. The food taste was also okayish. It felt like they used some old veggies, and the food smelled stale.
After all of this, it was not like the manager demonstrated courtesy in maintaining customer relationships. He was saying my boss lives in San Fransico and he doesn't have time for you. He was dismissive and rude, showing a complete lack of respect for us as customers. If I were at the owner's place and wanted to build my restaurant, I would have expelled that manager first.
Please don't go; don't waste your money, time, and energy fighting them. It's just charged because of its location in south Mumbai. Worst restaurant in...
