B Bhagat Tarachand - Pydhonie — Restaurant in Mumbai

Looking to satisfy authentic Indian food wali ichha? Well to fulfill the ‘ichha’ try out any Bhagat Tarachand outlet nearby. They serve one of the best vegetarian Indian food delicacies you would’ve ever tasted. Located in Kalbadevi, it has various outlets in the same lane.

We started our foodscapade by ordering Papad Churi and Masala Khichiya for starters as having Indian food without papad is like having a pizza without cheese. The starters were decent, we preferred the Masala Khichiya over the Papad Churi.

Coming to the main course, we ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala, Cheese Garlic Naan and butter chapati along with Dal Fry and Jeera Rice. The Paneer Tikka Masala was so delicious and flavorsome that it will leave you craving for more. One must definitely try the Cheese Garlic Naan, overloaded with cheese and heavenly in taste, it complemented the Paneer Tikka really well. The Dal Fry and Jeera Rice will take you straight to childhood memory lanes if all you want is a wholesome “Pure Ghee Dal-Chawal’ to satisfy your hunger and nostalgia at the same time.

Bhagat Tarachand also has its famous Masala Chaas in Beer Bottles, don’t forget to order a ‘pint’. The Chaas was the perfect way to end the meal but there’s always room for dessert.

For desserts, we ordered Rabdi and Moong Dal Halwa. The rich and creamy Rabdi made us drool all over again, it was the star of the table for sure. We also loved the Moong Dal Halwa, but after having that Rabdi we instantly had a soft spot for it.

Overall, easy on the pocket and amazing in taste, we totally recommend this place to foodscapade along with your family and friends.

FOODSCAPADES...

Had heard about Tarachand Bhagat and their fab food.. but never had the galls to venture into Kalbadevi.. during a weekday.. in my car. One fine morning.. after a strenuous yoga session.. made up my mind to try it out.. specially since I had burned some good calories.. and could afford to add it all back.. without feeling guilty. Walking into Kalbadevi.. I found faced with too many Tarachand Bhagats.. each had an additional letter added.. Like K. Tarachand Bhagat or B. Tarachand Bhagat.. and my Google Map.. only showed more. With the sun getting overhead.. I was confused.. miffed n tired. (I definitely hadnt come all the way.. to relearn my ABC's). So simply walked into one of them. Ordered a lassi to quench my thirst.. and voila.. it did much more. It not only cooled me down but was simply one of the best i've had so far. As I was there at breakfast time.. did parathas.. Gobi.. Mooli and Alu. All out of this world.. hot.. fresh.. crisp and well stuffed. They make it in the tandoor.. and add butter later.. so you can choose to have it sans the topping. Comes with a bit of Raita.. on the side. I mention it.. cause thats whats extraordinary there.. the quality of yoghurt. And because they were done in the tandoor.. I could gorge on so many. Lots of interesting dishes appear on their menu.. but didnt have the space. Ambience is neat and spotless. Must add here.. like their yoghurt.. their hospitality stands out. Felt like I was eating at a relatives home. Walked out.. feeling most satiated. Calories or not.. I shall come back for more!! Definitely recommended for some great.. Rajasthani.. Maru delicacies.. at a most...

LOCATION: This place is located within one of the oldest markets of the city- zaveri Bazaar in Pydhonie, CST area. It isn't as easy to locate coz there are way too many lanes reaching this destination.

AMBIENCE: This branch is quite small though..because it is one of the oldest one.. It has 2 floors- The lower section is non AC and the upper section AC which is really good and well lit.

MENU: This place is famous for their Traditional North Indian cuisine.. They serve jain and non jain food too with wide range of traditional desserts and sweet dishes too.

STAFF: The staff is really good and the service was super quick.

OFFERS: This place offers you vegetarian food only. (Jain and Non jain)

FOOD: The food is really amazing and super fresh n hot always .. Very tempting as we expected.

Special Thali 1( 3 special chapati, Dal Tadka, Shahi Paneer , Baingan bharta ,Rice Papad,Chaas and Gulab jamun)

Special Thali 2 ( 3 special chapati, Dal Tadka, Aloo Matar, Baingan bharta, Pulao, Papad,Chaas and Gulab jamun)

TIPS: Ask for their special thali and gulab jamun that you won't regret.
