The Restaurant located in the heart of south Mumbai named BAYROUTE originated its name from the Arabian theme of the restaurant. Not only its name but also the interior design including lighting schemes they have adopted the Arabic theme. The Arabic names of their delicacies, their menu card also followed the Arabic way of writing and Arabic crockery, made us indulge in their Arabic theme. The Staff was very polite and had a very good knowledge of each and every dish they serve. They even helped us know how much spice or what all ingredients would be added. Mocktails (Sheikh & Shakes): #Aleppo Chilli Guava: Amazing drink, gives a perfect kick of spice and made using ripen guava and lime, shaken well by adding the Aleppo pepper (it is a variety of capsicum annum which is used as a spice, particularly in Middle Eastern cuisine) + Rock salt. #Greek Goddess: This is very creamy, yummy, thick mocktail. Vanilla Greek Yogurt blended with mulberries. Starters (Hot Mezze): #Batata Harra: Crunchy fried potato cubes tossed with garlic, chili flakes, coriander. Different unique form if potato fries or bites we can say. #Harissa Chicken Kebab: Small pieces of boneless tender chicken, marinated in tikka masala, grilled perfectly. Served uniquely with Jaggery Molasses cream cheese dip. #Shish Taouk Chicken: Loved this a lot. Chicken marinated in Lebanese spiced yogurt was charcoal grilled and served with Dill & Cucumber Salsa Dip. #Hummus Bayroute (add-on chicken and Pitta):Creamy Hummus which had middle eastern favorite chickpea puree with sesame paste and extra virgin olive oil and greek yogurt labneh swirl with shish taouk chicken as an add-on. We had this dish with pita bread, which was very soft, easy to chew and also the creamy hummus along with small pieces of chicken which were very well cooked and juicy to chew made it more delicious. #Chicken Shawarma: Talking about Shawarma it was a lot better than other ones which I tried. The wrap was very thin than those usual ones. The stuff inside had ample of chicken and fries and veggies which had their signature taste as those veggies were pickled. The shawarma was served with 3 kinds of dips which were contradictory to each other, one was the garlic sauce which had the spice of garlic, the second one was spicy Schug named by them which was Arabian Originated was a green coloured medium spicy chutney and the third one was every shawarma lover's favourite dip mayonnaise which was very different from regular one. Most recommendable dish especially for those Shawarma lovers out there. Pide: Pide refers to canoe-shaped flatbread in Turkish cuisine. Here the Pide was topped with a lot of various tangy veggies{caper tapenade} and the bread was so well baked that it was very soft to munch on. As we had chosen Pirzola it was served with it. #Pirzola: Black olives {known as Blackmata olives named after the kalamata city in greece}and green olives{cerignola olives} both smooth in texture and fleshy and cilantro{corriander}, spring onion, green chilly, diced veggies like beetroot, carrot, and tomato which were preserved with wine vinegar. Manakeesh: Lebanese flatbread topped with middle eastern flavors. They had various options out of which we went for Za'atar Chicken #Za'atar Chicken: It was basically a pizza topped with various spices and herbs along with chicken and cheese. Mains: #Snapper Tripoli: Amazing, speechless dish I ever tried in seafood. Snapper fish (well known as Rani masa) from the Tripoli city is marinated in spices and then pit roasted (an event where a fish is held on two spikes until it is done). Perfectly roasted, fish was very fresh, soft, juicy. I just loved this. Desserts: #Lotus Drama: Very well presented. Served in a bowl which was well indicating Arabic culture. Basically three-layered structure. The bottom was cheesecake (very fluffy) on which lotus biscuit is kept and vanilla ice-cream was put on top, on our table he poured out caramel sauce on this whole assembly. It was melting in the mouth and leaving the best taste behind. In all best...

From the streets of Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon and Greece with a dining experience which is enhanced by the set-up of the restaurant with old world charm and modern elegant interiors is one of a kind.
What we munched on: Aush: It’s a thick tomato soup/stew served hot and is a part of Afghan, Iranian and Turkish cuisine. It was very well made with healthy flat wheat noodles and rich in yoghurt and spices. Recommended if you are vegetarian and healthy food is a must. Even if you are not, you’d be one to try this wonderfully made heavenly tasting soup.
Bayroute Kolokithi: All the way from Greece, Bayroute Kolokithi is a Greek style crisp zucchini duet served with whipped garlic yogurt. This one was my favourite. Heard about Greek Goddess? This is the edible version of Greek Goddess. This is the healthier vegan version of Greek zucchini. Need to impress your Greek husband? Get him to Bayroute for some Bayroute Kolokithi.
Move over Pizza, it’s all about Turkish pide now. Pide and its various varieties are wide spread through Turkey and are established as an important food. The base is a flat-bread of a similar style to pita, chapati, or western pizza crust.
Peynir: Sumac & sesame za’atar spiced cottage cheese topped with spicy olive & burratta cheese is a type of flat bread known as Pide which is a canoe shaped traditional Turkish flat bread stuffed & baked mastered em all. It was so perfect ♥️
Currently moving on to everybody’s favourite “Desserts” We liked everything we saw and wanted to try them all. We could only wish?
While I was in a mood to try their special, my friend wanted to try Chocolate. Since desserts are hard to miss. We ordered the Baklava obviously and The Chocolate Fondant to soothe her cravings.
The Chocolate Fondant: Dessert being the best part of any place (most of the time) Bayroute would definitely not disappoint us. It was sheer bliss. They did justice with The Chocolate Fondant, although there was a certain amount of less chocolate filling in between the cake which the restaurant should definitely add more of which, it was very Chocolatey and yummy soothing our taste buds. It was very well made and decorated with edible flowers and ice cream summed up to be one of the best chocolate dessert at Bayroute.
Baklava: I was very excited for this one, I was in two minds with Baklava or the Lotus Drama which was the cheesecake. Me being a huge fan of the cheesecakes I don’t miss it anywhere. But this was different. It was Baklava, Baklava is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with syrup or honey. It is characteristic of the cuisines of the Levant, the Caucasus, Balkans, Maghreb, and of Central and West Asia and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. With the help of my dear friends at Bayroute on their suggestion we went for Baklava and I was so much impressed with the presentation with the rose petals and the way it looked like was a real deal. It was not only presented well but it tastes so rich and heavenly. I’m definitely recommending this to everyone reading this out here. Go for it guys without a second thought! Impressed!
Last but not the least, couldn’t just finish off the dinner with the very famous Kawah! Kahwah is a traditional green tea preparation consumed in Afghanistan, Pakistan, some regions of Central Asia, and in northern India, especially in Kashmir Valley. Since one cannot always afford to go to such places, one can always visit Bayroute for the same rich taste and the refreshing vibe that comes after consuming it. I was dead sleepy after all that wonderful food, but that little beautiful cup of Kawah was very much energising and refreshing. Just Awesome!
I’m so much impressed with this place, The ambience, the food, the...
Read moreA newly opened restaurant by actor Shaad Randhawa and Brand Head Arjun Kher, Bayroute is one of the restaurants that dishes up mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine.
The restaurant is a mix of style, class and glamour. From sangrias to manakeesh to desserts and more palette satisfying classics are on their menu.
Reflecting its true meaning, the restaurant will take diners on an expedition across the regions of Greece, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt and Turkey.
The place is conceptualized very beautifully, from its furniture and wall décor to lighting, all is a work of art of which not only makes the space look vibrant but also adds the warmth and richness to it.
The dining room is distinctive in design, with their Moroccan printed sofas, Turkish art adorning the walls, and the Arabian art flooring add to the beauty of the place. I especially like the floating lamps on the ceiling that give it a distinctive feeling of being in a desert.

Bayroute Special Hummus :
An in-house special hummus, it had the classic hummus mixed with greek style yogurt and drizzled with olive oil on top and the zatar spices. Zaatar spice is my favorite and the combination went really well together. They serve it with a pita bread basket which have soft, hot and freshly made pitas.
Muhammara :
My wish of trying a Muhammara came true when I saw it on their menu. Red pepper mixed with walnuts and pomegranate molasses, it was the first time I was having this and boy was i impressed. A perfect cold dish to have with pita and wine on the side.
Halloumi Cigars :
Halloumi cheese covered with crisp pastry on the outside and fried to perfection. They serve it on a bed of peach and caramelised onions which really compliment the simple taste of the Halloumi. The rolls were very crisp and not at all oily.
Batata Hara :
A staple in every Mediterranean cuisine, this one is my favorite and I can have it any time of the day or night. Crispy fried potatoes tossed in garlic and Egyptian spices, it's a perfect appetizer.
Lamb Istanbul :
I wanted to try the lamb sheesh kebab but our server suggested that we try the lamb Istanbul instead and i was not dissapointed. The hand made kababs, cooked on a seekh were so soft and melt in the mouth, i kept going for more and more. They serve really crispy potatoes along with it which somehow complimented the whole dish. A garlic sauce on the side went well too.
Pirzola Pide :
A pide is a Turkish style flat bread cooked with toppings and baked to perfection. We ordered the Pirzola Pide which had olives, cilantro and capers in it. The outer bread was perfectly cooked and the distinct flavor of olives came across really well. Goodbye pizzas, hello Pides.
Lotus Drama :
A cheesecake made of Lotus Biscoff, served with white chocolate on the sides and caramel sauce on the top, its a dessert i could not get enough of. Even while writing this review, I am having a bad craving of habing it again. Soft cheesecake baked well along with the caramel sauce on top, it was a perfect ending to a great meal. A must have here.
Chocolate Fondant :
In other words, chocolate fondant in the melting chocolate cake that we all love and adore. Served with microgreens and edible flowers on the side along with vanilla ice cream, this dessert is a tribute to all the choco lovers out there.
K'nafi Jibneh :
The original name of the K'nafi is the Kunafah pronounced Koo-naa-fa. It originated in the Palestinian regions and later on made its way to the turkish cuisine. Basically its a cheesecake soaked in rose water and sugar syrup. The outer layer is made from angel hair phyllow pastry which makes it crispy and they stuff mozzarella cheese and mascarpone and cream cheese inside. On the top is the garnishment of the homely pistachios. As I have had this in the Middle East, I am very much familiar with this and wanted to try it here. I absolutely fell in love with this. This is one more dish that will make me come back...
