Boojee Cafe — Restaurant in Mumbai

Only Good Vibes at Boojee Cafe Normally I and my colleague, we meet up for evening walks, meetings, and light-minded conversations to help expand our business. Well, this time when we were deciding our next meeting spot, we agreed to explore and try a new cafe joint which we had recently spotted in our area called the Boojee Cafe. At first, Boojee sounded like a very interesting new word for me, and even the look and feel of the cafe was like an underground nice quaint cafe look with a beautiful combination of simple Black and White. So as soon as i entered the cafe, I and my friend were very curious to know what Boojee exactly means? and what we learned from the staff that it actually means a luxurious lifestyle yet with humble beginnings. In terms of ambiance, the entire cafe had these beautiful graffiti on the walls and it had these inspiring quotes of wisdom which was the perfect food for thought.

Boojee Cafe had both AC indoor and Non AC outdoor limited seating areas, the entire space though small is utilized wisely. It had high and low rise seating arrangements which are good for small groups. This place is located in the quite Kantwadi lane near Carter Road, Bandra West Mumbai and it is a great pick for brunch, coffee, quick bites and nice relaxing conversations.

Now what I really loved about this place was the people, the staff, I mean literally there are very few places you walk in and feel such a good vibe. The staff of this place are like Teddy bears, they are damn cute sweet people who are genuinely nice people and they welcome you with so much respect and care. Well it wasn't just that, but they definitely know their job well, they were well informed about the menu and knew exactly what the ingredients were being used in the dish. I feel even if you walk in alone the staff is super friendly to have great conversations with and you will definitely not get bored. The cafe has a limited menu and serves snacks, juices, sandwiches etc... with great coffee.

Now coming to the food this is what I tried:

Greek Salad 5*/5 Rs 220 A beautiful greek salad with fresh cucumbers, salad leaves, feta cheese, black olives, cherry tomatoes, and a lovely dressing with light seasoning. Yummyy.... Highly Recommended!

Espresso Dark Chocolate Mousse 5*/5 Rs 150 Awesome! This was sooo amazing it made me speechless. The mousse was so light and it just melts in your mouth. Every bite was so satisfying. Highly Recommended!

ABC Apple Beetroot Carrot Juice 5*/5 Rs 220 So refreshing juice. Recommended!

Mushroom Bruschetta 5*/5 Rs 250 I think this was beautiful crimini mushrooms sauteed with onions and tomatoes, topped with delicious creamy cheesy and lovely pesto sauce. Mushroom Bruschetta had this delicious crispy Italian bread and extremely cheesy texture. Loved it! Highly Recommended!

Review for Booje Cafe – 3/5

I visited Booje Cafe on 16th Road this past Saturday around 2 p.m. We were a party of two and were told there would be a 25-minute wait for a table, which eventually stretched to about 35 minutes. This was understandable, as we opted not to sit in the communal area.

However, the waiting area left much to be desired. A dumpster was positioned to the right of the main entrance, with dirty water visibly flowing from under the gate. It was quite unpleasant standing there, especially given the location’s reputation as a celebrity hotspot in Mumbai.

Once inside, we ordered: • Nut Butter & Cacao Smoothie – Pleasant taste, but it was warmer than expected for a smoothie; it should have been chilled. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ • Avocado on Toast with Seeds – A delightful mix of jalapeño and cheddar, guacamole, pickled onions, and beetroot cashew. A nice balance of flavors. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ • Four-Cheese Sandwich – Tasty, but a bit plain if you prefer sandwiches with vegetables. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ • Booje Nachos – Disappointing. The chips were hard to chew, and the dish was overwhelmed by guacamole, losing its Tex-Mex essence. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ • Iced Mocha – Excellent, perfectly balanced. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

One concern was the presence of the cafe’s pet dog. While it’s adorable, having a dog roam freely among diners is not the most hygienic choice. I even saw a guest visibly startled when the dog sniffed her food. The staff were frequently petting the dog and returning to service without visibly washing their hands. It’s unlikely they were sanitizing their hands thoroughly after each interaction, given the layout of the restaurant.

Additionally, the staff were seen taking out garbage through the main entrance, which detracts from the experience of a premium breakfast spot.

In summary, Booje Cafe offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, but significant improvements are needed in cleanliness and hygiene standards. I’d rate my experience 3/5 and would consider returning once these issues...

From the moment you enter the door of this café the blend of coffee aroma and baked desserts just transports you to happy space😄 Visited on a monday afternoon at 1pm the cafe was jam-packed. Luckily found the only table available on the first floor which has floor seating with super comfortable upholstered cushions.

What We Ordered

Orange Ice Tea - served with the garnish of dehydrated orange and has a refreshing mild flavor of orange which is ideal for the current end of monsoon weather in the city.It also looks super Pretty.

Avocado toast - Beautifully plated and garnished with sunflowers seeds and vinigarete pink onions they toast smells and looks super pretty and the first bite of it and one doesn't want to soft.The creaminess of the avocado is balanced delicately with a hint of spice which is a pleasant suprise for the pette and a lovely combination..Personal Favourite

Portobello mushroom in Hash Brown - What looks like a crêpe, garnished with vegan cheese is a very interesting take and upgrading the look of a typical hash brown, which is delicate and super thin in consistency and is stuffed with Portobello mushrooms that are juicy & seasoned beautifully.

Nachos Bowl - the inhouse nachos are the crunchiest I've ever eaten and the salad that comes along with it is fresh, crunch and makes for a fun snack.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my maiden visit to this café. The service is great though by 230 they're we're queues outside the café for people awaiting tables and the kitchen got super busy.

We also ordered the four chesse wholewheat sandwich which is a cheese lovers DREAM come true.An absolute must for when your feeling super indulgent😁😁
