This was my second visit to EATC and it was the food and ambiance of the first visit that dragged me this time. Went with my wife as we planned to have a heavy weekend breakfast somewhere outside after a long time - and EATC was the first name that ringed the bell. We were probably the second customer as we reached just around 7:30-7:45 and it was very quiet - just as I wanted it to be. The overall experience was good but the food disappointed a bit this time. We ordered an Egg White Omelette with spinach and feta cheese, Oatmeal pancakes with honey and cinnamon, and French Toast with peanut butter and honey along with green tea and strawberry milkshake.
Egg White Omelette: The Omelette was near perfect and we loved it. Spinach and feta cheese went well with amazing flavors bursting in your mouth.
Oatmeal pancakes: I loved it. We felt it was slightly under-cooked. A minute of a more cooking time would have made it perfect. Was a little heavy even with two people on it. Not sure if it was completely maida or a mix of wheat+maida. More of wheat flour would actually improve the taste.
French Toast: French Toast appearance surprised us. I am not sure what they tried to do there but a google search on French toast will tell you what it should look like. In line with our apprehension, it was a disaster as the bread was more than double the thickness of a regular bread and heavily undercooked. As we put our knife inside, the doughy texture of the inside was very much visible. I realized it was uneatable. We asked the person over there to check with the chef if this is how you actually make it or is there a mistake. After a minute, he returned and confirmed that this is how it is made. We decided to return it. After sometime he returned and asked if we would like to have waffles instead. We appreciated the gesture and agreed to have waffles.
I was quite positive about waffles since the suggestion was coming from the chef himself/herself. And to my expectations, waffles did not disappoint. It was well made and banana-cinnamon combination worked amazing. Although, the doughy taste of French Toast was yet to go.
Although disappointing this time, I can give it one more shot,. sans French...
Read moreSuperb experience in dining out. We came across this place as we were just driving around Bandra looking for a place that would catch my fancy. Discarding a few others (by checking on Google reviews, of course!) we saw this place and I loved the quiet aura it seemed to project. Parking in the street around the place wasn't too difficult on a Friday evening. We've lived for some time in the US and are quite accustomed to the custom deli experience, but this was the first time we had this experience in Mumbai. The restaurant itself is very clean and while it isn't exactly spartan, it also isn't lavish in its accoutrements. The food choices are quite easy to figure out and we opted for a salad and burger each. The menu offers one veg and one non-veg soup as well, should you be inclined to go for a soup/sandwich combination instead. The burgers and sandwich choices are quite decent, although I do feel that there could have been a slightly greater emphasis on Indian tastes. The dessert choices are considerable and do taste really nice. There is a nice choice of drinks as well, to go with any combination of food you order. The layout and service is where this restaurant really shone out - there were only a couple of times that we needed some help at our table and the service for those couple of times was prompt and courteous. The layout includes indoor (air-conditioned) seating and outdoor (non-A/C) seating. Both areas are well-lit, very clean and spacious enough to NOT give you a feeling of overcrowding. The only reason I am docking a star is due to the expectation that the two of us would spend something in the region of INR 1000 (as per Zomato) but ended up spending around twice that. I do feel that some of the prices could be about 15-25% lesser than what they are, but that's just me. Don't get me wrong though - I WILL DEFINITELY BE VISITING THIS PLACE MORE OFTEN AND WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO...
Read moreMy visits to "Eat Around the Corner" in Bandra have been consistently delightful, making it one of my go-to spots in Mumbai. The most recent visit, as well as one earlier in the year to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, left a lasting impression.
The ambiance of "Eat Around the Corner" is one of its standout features. The place offers a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor seating options, catering to different preferences. Whether you're looking for a cozy corner or a vibrant outdoor atmosphere, this restaurant has it all.
The menu is a treasure trove of variety, with a special nod to their salads, wraps, and pasta. The dishes that particularly stood out for me were the Paneer Nasi Goreng, Falafel Wrap, and Mexican Wrap. Each dish was a delightful mix of flavors, well-prepared and presented. The Paneer Nasi Goreng was a fusion surprise, combining Indian and Indonesian flavors beautifully. The Falafel Wrap was packed with freshness, and the Mexican Wrap was a flavorful journey with just the right amount of spice.
Another aspect worth mentioning is their range of fresh juice mocktails – a refreshing complement to any meal. This attention to detail in their beverage selection adds to the overall dining experience.
Service at "Eat Around the Corner" has always been prompt and courteous. The staff's attentiveness and efficiency contribute significantly to the pleasant dining atmosphere.
