We finally decided to order food in this lockdown. After some discussion and debate, we all settled to call for some food from Gymkhana 91. I had fantastic time few months back when I could personally visit the outlet. Packaging was good, delivered in paper bags. Food was reasonably warm when delivered.
We just called for some starters since dinner was mad at home. We called for Kuber Kulcha (personal favourite), Veg Spring Rolls and Kung Pao Potato.
You can never go wrong if you order Kuber Kulcha, mini kulchas stuffed with cheese, garlic and chillies comes with green chutney. Also really liked their Kung Pao Potatoes tossed in Kung Pao sauce and veggies. It was special to finally get back to new normal times and order food from outside. Would recommend all to try Gymkhana 91 for their safety and hygiene standards as well.
Gymkhana 91 Dining
Gymkhana 91 has one of the most unique interiors that one can find in today's restaurants. British Colonial touch given to everything right from tables and chairs to the stairs, to the ceiling and the walls. Just kind of takes you back to the 19th century. It has 2 levels, but the ground level is much more spacious. The place primarily serves Modern Indian, Asian and Continental. Restaurant is located inside Raghuvanshi Mills Compound, besides Gup Shup, at Level 1.
Talking about what all we tried at Gymkhana 91 -
We began with a couple of starters - Kuber Kulcha and Dahi ke Alu Tikki. Both of them simply amazing. Kuber Kulcha were stuffed with Cheese, Garlic and chillies. And Dahi Ke Alu Tikki were these mini patties deep fried topped with a bit of yogurt and imli chutney. The good part along with taste, they have worked hard on the presentation of the dish as well. Along with starters, we called for Classic Blueberry Smoothie and Hazelnut Brownie shake. Again nothing to complain about, one can choose either as per the preference.
I had heard a lot about the Spicy Tuss, which is the Maharashtrian Thecha served along with Pao. Thecha is generously spread in between of the buns, but mind you it is extremely spicy. Spice lovers would just love the dish. Authentic taste of Thecha made of spices from Kolhapur. Must try. Moving to the mains, we tried the Indian section, even though had heard a lot about the Sushi, Noodles and also Malaysian curry. From Indian, we called for Garlic Naan along Subz Awadhi Kofta. Good taste and texture, Kofta we're fresh and soft enough.
Finally for desserts, we called for the Chocolate Volcano with Orange Zest. It is recommended to call for this dessert while your mains are served, because the restaurant needs at least 20-25 mins before which they can serve this dessert. The hot chocolate within the cake just gushes out the moment you break the cake to take a bite. The orange flavour is light not too strong so even those who don't prefer a mix of orange and chocolate can go for this.
A nice experience at Gymkhana 91 especially because of the ambience and dishes, where certain are awesome like the starters and Thecha. Pay a visit when around High Street Pheonix or...
